Deathstalker V2 Pro - Random disconnects

I have this keyboard for almost 2 weeks, but I’ve starting to notice an issue… It can sometimes suddenly stop responding for 1-2 secs and come back to life 🤔

It seems to only happen when in 2.4 mode, haven’t been able to reproduce this in plugged/bluetooth mode

The 2.4 dongle is also paired to my Razer Basilisk V3 Pro and plugged in the USB port of the Razer Base Station V2. The mice doesn’t seem to have the issue, atleast I have yet to notice it

Did you try pairing the keyboard to another computer? Also, check if the mouse driver has been updated by clicking this article.

Did you try pairing the keyboard to another computer?

Thanks for answering! Yes I already tried it has the same issue, I’ve also tried with another usb port… It isn’t clear why the keyboard disconnect, but maybe using one dongle per peripherals will prevent this?

Also, check if the mouse driver has been updated by clicking this article.

The article you provided is for the keyboard, not the mouse. But I’ve tried updating the mouse and the keyboard but both are already up to date 😥

Hello ,

If you are experiencing random disconnects with your Deathstalker V2 Pro keyboard, there are several things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the connection: Ensure that the keyboard is properly connected to your computer. If you are using a USB connection, try using a different USB port or cable. If you are using a wireless connection, make sure the USB receiver is plugged into a USB port on your computer and that the batteries in the keyboard are charged.

Update drivers: Ensure that the keyboard's drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Disable power management: If you are using a laptop, power management settings may be causing the keyboard to disconnect. Try disabling power management for the USB port that the keyboard is connected to.

Check for interference: Wireless keyboards can be affected by interference from other wireless devices. Try moving the USB receiver to a different USB port or location, away from other wireless devices.

Reset the keyboard: Try resetting the keyboard by turning it off and on again or by removing the batteries and reinserting them.

If none of these steps solve the issue, it may be a hardware problem with the keyboard, and you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance or consider replacing the keyboard.

Having the same issue with my Deathstalker V2 PRO now after about a month.. Lightspeed connection drops over and over again and only works in bluetooth or wired. Any update to this?

Same issue but with Bluetooth. Sits about 2.5ft from my laptop. Drops and reconnects once every couple of minutes. If I move my coffee cup to the opposite side of the keyboard, however, the drops almost completely go away.

I seemed to have fixed the issue by uninstalling razer synapse and reinstalling and/or combining my mouse and keyboard to a single lightspeed dongle.

Anyone got this kind of issue with DeatStalker V2 Pro, this is my 2nd keyboard that is doing the same thing. Only thing that helped was removing the dongle from USB and connecting it again, but it helped only for some short period of time.

Yes...my DeathStalker V2 Pro does the same...whole rows of lights go out, it cycles through colors even know it is always set for a static color.  Tried different USB ports, tried the wireless dongle itself also. tried using HyperSpeed connection to the Basilisk Pro...the issue still comes back.  The only time it doesn't do this is when it is connected via USB cable.  Sometimes it will even randomly disconnect in game…at a loss at what else to try.

I am having this exact same issue. Whole rows of lights go out, cycles colours even though I’m on a static colour theme, repeatedly sends the last keystroke while the previous issues happen. I have mine multi-device paired with an Orochi v2.

Only seems to happen with 2.4Ghz, and not Bluetooth and wired.

Any fixes in the works for this? Mine also seems to do it when connected via USB too.

Same issue here

I have this keyboard for almost 3 months , but I’ve starting to notice an issue… It can sometimes suddenly stop responding for 1-2 secs and come back to life It seems to only happen when in 2.4 mode, haven’t been able to reproduce this in plugged/bluetooth mode.

Hi

I got the same issue, the only difference is that it happens only if wired, and works perfectly fine when using 2.4Ghz, and Bluetooth.

So I can’t use my keyboard while it’s charging 😭

Just got my keyboard yesterday and started noticing this immediately! If I don’t find a fix I’ll be returning it within the 2 week window. To elaborate, keys flicker, especially the end key and the ones next to it. And the connection drops for 1-2 seconds while on 2.4.

Lots of issues on my DeathStalker v2 pro.

I have the

Keyboard: DeathStalker v2 pro

Mouse: Deathadder v3 pro

Headset: BlackShark v2 pro wireless

All new. Not more than 1 week old.

I had read the same somewhere that if there are 2 devices connected, it gives an issue.

So, as per this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uoqS_7RQTI

I did the same. all my firmware are upto date. No issues with mouse or headphones.

keyboard is connected to the mouse dongle and is using a single dongle to connect via Hyperspeed.

All connected to USB 2.0 ports.

Although improved,

  • I still keep getting isssues with random unresponsiveness on key press for a few seconds
  • Random reconnections. and kind of renders the keyboard unusable. Keyboard Flashes white before this happenes
  • Very rarely one keypress equates to multiple keypresses and results ion multiple characters on screen.
  • Continuous keypress doesn’t work at times. especially ingame. e.g. pressing ‘w’ for movement doesn’t result in continuous movement

Really surprised that such an expensive keyboard has such issues!!

If you have found any solution, please do let me know.

Hi guys,

I had the same issue until now. Instead of connecting the keyboard to the dongle of the Basilisk V3 Pro, I’ve connected the mouse to the dongle of the Deathstalker v2 Pro keyboard and it seems to work like this.

I’m using it now for a couple of hours now and I hadn’t had any disconnect. It seems like, the dongle of the keyboard doesn’t have this issue, when two devices are connected.

Greetings

No, man, nothing's going to help. I've been struggling with this for several years now (exactly from the first day of the release of this terrible keyboard). In a fit of anger, I have already broken 4(I was just on the verge of suicide due to nervous exhaustion as a result of irritation from a non-working keyboard, which costs a lot of money), and every time I buy it, simply because it is very beautiful and has no analogues. The official support does not say anything except "please update the drivers", God, the idiots are working there, I sent videos of how this happens and all possible logs, but they did not answer me anything intelligible, referring to hardware problems. As a result, I already own the 5th Deathstalker V2 Pro keyboard and they all have the same problem. I don't see any point in describing them in detail because people did it in this

I just tried absolutely everything, reinstalling Windows with different builds, tried using Linux systems, tried changing all possible drivers, tried using a dongle from my Basilik v3 PRO, tried connecting to different ports, using a USB extension cord to separate dongles from each other in different directions to eliminate the possibility of interference. This problem simply does not depend on anything, it's worth just breaking the fingers of the engineers who did it - this is the only solution. If suddenly one of the representatives wants to contact and compensate for all the money spent on this beautiful keyboard, here is my mailbox i@umbron.ru (I am ready to provide all receipts, screenshots and purchase reports)

Hello all,

Not sure if completely same, but my Deathstalker v2 pro tkl started having issues via BT. 2.4/cabled connection works just fine, but when it comes to BT is stopped memorizing device slots. Meaning:

  • Connect it as a new BT device
  • Saved device slot on keyboard (1-3, tried all) continues to flash, rather than stopping as previously
  • After around 2 minutes it disconnects and you have to repeat new BT device adding process
  • Turning off/on does not reconnect to the device at all, the only way is by adding new BT device

Tried multiple devices, both mac and windows - same. Updating firmware did not help. If anyone experienced something similar and managed to get it resolved, would appreciate assistance!

Same Deathstalker V2 Pro problem here. 2.4G is completely unusable as most keystrokes don't register. With Bluetooth, you can at least type text with only maybe 10% keystroke loss, but aswd gaming doesn't work because continuous keystrokes don't register even with Bluetooth.

This has been ongoing for years. I've tried both single and separate kb&m dongles (I have the Basilisk v3 pro). I've tried dongle extenders and different USB ports for the dongles. Moving dongles physically around on their extenders has an effect, leading me to think the issue has something to do with interference. However, I have ZERO problems with the wireless Basilisk mouse and all of my xbox elite 2 controllers, so it is definitely a keyboard defect. I have all the latest software and firmware updates. Win11.

My setup is in a family room (sofa 10-20 ft from PC), so wired connection is not an option. Razer, to be honest, needs to stop advertising this as a *wireless* keyboard. Or else, replace the wireless module with the one used in their mouse product.

I'd appreciate any recommendations from you all for a wireless keyboard that might actually work. I've been thinking of the Logitech, but I don't want to get it if it is going to be just as faulty. I have purchased my last Razer product.

Same here

deathstalker v2 pro

deathadder v2 pro

2.4 GHz random disconnect,  keystroke loss. Any game is unplayable.

With both 2.4GHz dongle, only the DSV2 one, only the DAV2 one

Everything is uptodate.

Have to put USB wire to have usable keyboard.

The point of buying a 250€ wireless keyboard, if wireless is that shitty.

I’ve had the Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro for a couple weeks now, and I have to say that it is a piece of shit. The wireless does not work reliably enough to actually use wirelessly. Don’t waste your money on Razer piece of shit products. From Razer, I have one laptop, two keyboards, two mice, one controller, one headset, and all I can say at this point is fuck Razer for putting out such high-priced garbage that doesn’t work.

Ironically enough, the keys on my keyboard stopping responding for 1-2 seconds for like the 20th time today while typing this.

I bought the Deathstalker V2 Pro a few weeks ago and was running into the same issue while using the 2.4g dongle. I don’t know if this “fixed” the issue, but ever since I changed a couple things, I haven’t had a disconnect.

  • Checked for and installed driver updates (did not fix the issue at all)
  • Uninstalled/Reinstalled Razer Synapse (still disconnected once after doing this)
  • Under ‘Power’ turned off ‘DIM LIGHTING’ (<-----pretty sure this was the fix. 0 disconnects for four days now)

I think the fixer there was uninstalling/reinstalling Synapse, and THEN turning off ‘DIM LIGHTING’ under the Power settings. I had one disconnect after reinstalling Synapse. I’ve had 0 disconnects after turning off ‘DIM LIGHTING’ about 4 days ago. I’ll be sure to update this post if it happens again.

Update: Unfortunately, it started happening again. Not nearly as often as before. I would say once every 3 days or so. But still in middle of typing, which is very frustrating.

For a $250 keyboard, I expect significantly better performance than this. You can’t sync the keyboard with Chroma unless you use the dongle connection, and the dongle connection does not work properly. The only option is to keep it wired, which what’s the point of a wireless keyboard then? This keyboard performs as well as a $25-50 keyboard, at best.

I am having the same problems with the DeathStalker V2 Pro. Random disconnects and stutters in 2.4g. Bluetooth to my work laptop is usually very good, but there are occasional disconnects. On Bluetooth I use the default lighting scheme and it’s noticeable when the KB seems to reset.

I also have a Basilisk V3 Pro that has performed flawlessly.

Gaming in the living room is nearly impossible with the Deathstalker V2 Pro.

I have tried the following:
Separate dongles for KB and Mouse

Same dongle for KB and Mouse (Both KB Dongle and Mouse Dongle)

Dongle on Front Panel IO instead of back

Reinstall Synapse 3

Uninstall Synapse 3 and use Synapse 4 Beta

No Razer software

3rd party RGB software

Firmware updates

Nothing seems to improve 2.4g performance for very long. There is maybe 6ft between the KB on a lap desk and the dongle on the front IO of my PC. With a perfectly clear line of sight, its a little better. If I hold the KB in the air with the (plastic) bottom of the unit facing the PC, then I get better performance.

It’s always noticeable when the signal drops out. The lighting goes to full purple (default) instead of my custom scheme. Even when I don’t see the lighting drop out, holding W to move forward is intermittent. WASD gaming is nearly impossible.
