Hi all,
I am having serious issues getting my Asus PG278Q external gsync monitor working with my 2018 Razer blade advanced (with the 1070 max q gpu).
So my question is does my laptop/gpu combo support gsync on an external monitor when using the displayport port?
If I plug the monitor into the display port the monitor appears in both the intel control panel and sometimes it may appear as a gsync compatible monitor in the nvidia control panel, but i cannot whatever i do get a signal to it, ie the screen is always black. I have now tried 3 cables. It will sometimes crash if i try to span or mirror to the external screen meaning a hard reset of the laptop required.
Using the monitor attached to the thunderbolt port has also been a nightmare, with many crashes, corrupted screens and now after a bios + ec update (neither of which were available on the downloads page) and a complete reinstall of windows i can get a signal to it, obviously no gsync this way but for some reason at first it wouldn't run at anything over 60hz, then it wouldn't work over 120hz, finally allowing me to use it at 144hz but when trying to game I am getting abnormal erratic performance, lag etc.
The monitor works perfectly otherwise when attached to a desktop pc.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey @whatevereverever. Our Razer Blade 15" 2018 is not compatible with G-Sync. Those with frame rates above 60Hz, the benefit of G-Sync is less apparent to the naked eye. By not integrating G-Sync we were able to use NVIDIA Optimus to help prolong the battery life when users are on the go.

Ok, thanks for the reply. Any idea why I cannot use the monitor at all when plugged into the displayport on the Razer? And secondly why it wont run at anything above 120Hz when attached to the thunderbolt port. Looking forward to your reply. It's not much of a gamer's experience so far!
Thanks for asking. Sorry for the mishap. We'll need to investigate. Please send me a PM together with your laptop's serial number so we can check its available updates and specs.
