Help fixing the volume wheel on a Blackwidow Elite

I own a Blackwidow Elite and the volume wheel on the top right is malfunctioning. When I try to scroll, the numbers on my PC move in random directions and the scroll wheel is useless. I blasted the wholes with pressurized air to remove any dust but nothing fixed it. I tried looking up solutions and one person said spraying WD-40 in the gap of the wheel fixed it. But I don't think spraying chemicals in my keyboard is a good idea. I also don't want to open the board because of fears of breaking it. Any ideas?
