Hyperflux Power Issues - Turns off in game

Last week my Hyperflux arrived and it's easily my favorite Razer purchase yet. Unfortunately, I've been having some power issues with the mouse and I'm convinced it's a software problem. Here are the steps I've taken to ensure everything is working properly:

  • Do not place the Razer Firefly HyperFlux Mat on top of any metallic surface or structure.
  • Do not place metallic objects, cellphones, charging docks, or wireless charging devices within 20 cm or 8 inches of the Razer Firefly HyperFlux's surroundings.
  • Do not place the Razer Firefly HyperFlux within 1 meter of another Razer Firefly HyperFlux.
  • Do not place the Razer Firefly HyperFlux within 1 meter of a Wi-Fi router.

That being said, when I'm playing a game the mouse tends to lose power. The mousepad stays on and lit up but the mouse itself just dies and either needs to be plugged in or placed back on the mat a couple of times before it turns on again. At first I thought this was a liftoff issue since I primarily player fps games. However, I tested this a few times without lifting off at all and the mouse will still die. The funny thing is I tried this with some other games and noticed different behavior:

  • Modern Warfare: Always Disconnects

  • Doom Eternal: Sometimes Disconnects

  • Far Cry 3: Never Disconnects!
  • No Game: Never Disconnects!

This leads me to believe that the issue is software related, and quite possibly due to a power distribution issue. The more graphically intense the game, the more the mouse disconnects AND the more power is needed to run the game. My though is that during these games the mousepad may not be providing enough charge to the mouse. I'm going to run a few more tests in Power Saver mode to see if this theory holds, but obviously I shouldn't have to do that just for my mouse to work. I looked everywhere for something that would allow me to manual set power minimums but I can't find anything that would let me do that. I also do not believe that what I'm experiencing is a power supply issue. Below are some of my specs to support that:

  • GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB GDDR6
  • Intel Core i7-8700K 6-core processor
  • Z370 motherboard
  • 1000W 80+ Gold power supply

I should also note that I tried to find new drivers for the mouse but everything just lead me to Synapse 3 which doesn't seem to have driver installation on it either. I've seen some older posts on this topic, but no solutions anywhere. Hopefully there's an answer out there somewhere!
