Laptop fans much louder after cleaning laptop when plugged in

Hey,

The other day I stupidly spilt a little water on my laptop - I was very quick, but the screen went black. After 15 minutes, I tried turning it on but then went black again. Under the advice of the internet, I turned it off, opened it up, removed the battery, and made sure it was dry with cotton wool and compressed air (there was only a small drop of water under the battery that didn't look like it was touching anything sensitive), and left it like that for well over 24 hours.

After reconnecting the battery and closing it up, it works fine - performance is as it was before, but when plugged in the fans are quite a bit louder. When not plugged in it's fine though. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Also, just after I reconnected everything, when I turned it off, it kept restarting, but eventually managed to fix it by putting it to sleep, then shutting it down, and now it closes down fine.

Thanks!

That was a close one. I'm glad that you were to revive your laptop. By the way, did you check for your unit's available firmware from our support page? Ensure that your Windows operating system, NVIDIA., and Intel drivers are updated too.

That's sad to hear. There could've been an affected internal part in your laptop after the accidental water spiel. Does the same behavior occur when the Razer Blade is on Windows Safe Mode with Networking? I suggest sending the unit for hardware diagnosing/repair if the issue persists even after resetting to its factory state. I'll be locking this thread now. Feel free to submit a case to our Support Team or send me a PM.
