My headset takes forever to load, audio settings get stuck, THX button and equalizer don't work | Razer Insider

I’ve tried fixing this all day. I don’t think I’ve ever been this irritated with a company’s product. Woooosaaaaah.

I just performed a clean windows install last night, and this morning I moved on to getting my peripherals setup. I installed Synapse 3 (two of my peripherals aren’t supported by the new beta app yet,) and I was immediately struck by how ridiculously long it took to load my headphones (Razer Kraken Ultimate.) I literally spent 10 minutes watching that stupid circle spin. I begin moving through the app after it finally loads, and I realize none of the settings I’ve been changing had saved. As soon as I left that setting’s page and moved to the next, they were reverting back to their previous state (that’s what I mean by “stuck” in the title.) Everything began cascading at that point. I then discovered the equalizer  was also getting “stuck,” and the THX button on the physical headset no longer works properly. Sometimes it lights up by itself, sometimes it doesn’t. The THX device also doesn’t show up anymore, but apparently some update removed it and built it into the driver? I have no idea how the Kraken Ultimate’s THX is supposed to function now. Is the button even supposed to work after these changes? I genuinely despise Razer.

I intentionally avoided Razer’s infamous garbage tier updates for as long as possible for this very reason. It almost seems like Synapse doesn’t have permission to change it’s own settings. If only we could install previous versions..

So far I’ve tried all of the following:

  • Running Synapse as admin.
  • Reseting my headset in Synapse (I think it just creates a fresh profile.)
  • Uninstalling Synapse 3 (and removing ALL leftover folders and registry keys.)
  • Razer’s 100% worthless troubleshooting app (seriously, I’m embarassed I even downloaded that thing.)
  • Uninstalling the device itself from device manager (both speakers and mic.)
  • Enabling/disabling possible conflicts in device manager.
  • Varying combinations of all of the above.

Nothing has worked. I’m sorry for the wall of text, but I figured I should be as thorough as possible. Has anyone ever experienced ANY of this, and if you have, did you find a way to fix any of it? I’d greatly appreciate all of the help I can get. Speakers and mic are both functional, but that seems to be the only good news.

I had the same problem,my headphones were connecting for 20 mins and after connecting my EQ for sound and mic didnt work.Solution that worked for me is go to search bar type msconfig go to services enable all, then go to startup and disable razer synapse(also disable it within app) start synapse manually. hope this help.
