Hi everyone,I'm having an issue with the software or with windows I'm not quite sure.
I just bought a pair of Razer headphones and i got an activation code for 7.1 surround sound,i downloaded the software but i have an issue where windows wont detect 7.1 surround sound.
In the setup it says that it has to be the system's default playback device but when i go to select it,it wont appear, maybe windows isn't detecting it i tried uninstalling the software and installing it again but to no avail.
If anyone knows what i might be doing wrong please reply to my thread.

I have the exact same problem! Please, someone help!
You have to go to the Windows Sound Settings. From there, right-click on "Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound)", then hit "Set as default playback device".

It's not there to select.Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound) does not appear to select as default playback device that's the issue i've been having all along.
I have not received my activation code. I'm stuck on this screen. And i have registered my product.

Yup.. exactly. Razer Surrond is supposed to create a virtual playback device named "7.1 Surround Sound" and it doesn't. So there's not even an option to set it as default.
It doesn't even show up in the hidden tab of Device Manager.

Check all places, spam and whatnot.. it's a different email. Title should be "7.1 Surround Sound" as well.
Anyway.. about the virtual device thingy.. still no solution, been trying everything. Updating drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling devices, everything. I don't know where the problem is, but i think it's not headset related 'cause I tried it on a laptop and it worked just fine and Razer Surround created the virtual playback device with no problems at all.
i just searched my email for "7.1 Surround Sound" and i nothing came up.

It may have been disabled because of some Win10 privacy/permission settings. Can you upload a screenshot of this so we can get a better picture? Also, do you have a headset plugged in?

Was it working before for you or has it been like this since initial set up? Do send me a PM with your logs so I can get a better picture of what's happening in the background.
@DesertSandaeroportal483 and @Rizzle503 What Razer product did you register? Please PM me so I can help you out. This is a violation of our House Rules and I don't appreciate you highjacking someone else's thread.

I figured as much, PM me your system and application logs from Windows Event Viewer. I think this is an OS-related issue and is rather tricky to deal with.
