Razer Basilisk V3 Pro suddenly stopped working in 2.4 GHz mode

I've been using my Basilisk V3 Pro for about two weeks now. It's run without any issues and I love the mouse. Tonight, I got home and decided to get a gaming session in. I turn on my computer and start using my mouse normally, but had to get up and use the bathroom. Shortly after I come back and my mouse suddenly would not function at all. RGB is on, but the mouse does not track, nor are any of the buttons recognized. I tried unplugging the dongle and plugging it back in, and that seemed to allow me a couple seconds of the mouse working, then it would stop working again. Now it just does not work at all no matter where I plug the dongle in (PC itself or USB hub).

I tried looking for firmware updates for this mouse but there doesn't seem to be any as of yet. I cleaned off the underside of the mouse with a q-tip and Isopropyl Alcohol. Quit and restarted the Razer synapse app. Restarted my computer. Unplugged and plugged the mouse back into the same and different ports.

Frustrating issue and it seemingly happened out of nowhere. I've heard that a lot of the recent Razer mice dongles have been defective, and I'm afraid my dongle might have just 'died' or stopped working. This issue makes me a little afraid to use Razer mice going forward, if I'm being honest. Seeing as this is a $160 mouse that seemingly stopped functioning out of nowhere.

I looked it up and it is apparently a very common issue, as the reviews linked above will display. I think it's simply unacceptable that with a $160 mouse you are playing a gamble as to whether or not your dongle works. I will be returning this to Best Buy and using the money to get a G502X Plus. Used a G305 for 4 years without any issues. It's a shame because I really enjoyed this mouse, but $160 and then a further $70 for the dock make this a $220 mouse... with awful quality control. This mouse even stopped working the day my best buy return period ends.

Thanks, SuaveCrouton! Let's continue our conversation privately.
I'm confused because i made a post detailing my issues with this yesterday and have not gotten any comment or support yet.

1. Do not uninstall the drivers per the instructions for trouble shooting on Razer's website. They will NOT reinstall no matter what you do from the mouse. The dongle is fairly unreliable and cuts out horribly. Before i uninstalled the drivers my PC would pick up the mouse when it was plugged in and now it does not.

2. I purchased a bluetooth USB dongle for my desktop PC yesterday and the mouse works flawlessly with it on my PC. It gets picked up in device manager as a mouse and Synapse registers it too. So this gives me reason to believe that the dongle is the problem just like everyone else has said on Best buys' reviews.

I'm not entirely sure why my mouse won't pick up or register on synapse or device manager when using it hooked to the PC or when the wireless reciever does work intermittently. My laptop registers it just fine when hooked up via cable / blue tooth. But i also didn't uninstall the driver in device manager on my laptop per their instructions.

Here is hoping they release something soon because i had ordered 2 of them and the 2nd one isn't here yet.

I contacted support and they told me I'd have to wait for a replacement dongle, but they don't have any idea when replacement dongles will actually be made. So I've been told to use the mouse wired until they do make some. It's a huge joke of course, that this is what I have to put up with for $160. I just went to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new one. And guess what? This dongle was dead right out of the box. Plugged it in, it recognized it once for about 5 seconds, and then the dongle died and totally stopped working.

It seems like Best Buy has an entire bad of Basilisk dongles. Pathetic. And I'm supposed to pay another $70 for a wireless charging dock after all this? Lmao.

I paid 20$ for an Asus bluetooth dongle from bestbuy to use my headphones with my pc a bit. The mouse works flawlessly via bluetooth. What I don't understand is even if i hook the mouse up wired it still doesn't register in device manager or on synapse. I'm so confused. But on my laptop I don't have that problem. I went into drivers and uninstalled the mouse driver per their instructions and it will not detect the mouse any other way than bluetooth now.

I picked this one up from bestbuy and i liked it so much at fiest i ordered a second one with a doc from their website to replace my basilisk ultimate that needs to be retired. Im pretty confused atm.

That advice is actually harmful. If you uninstall your mouse's drivers you will not be able to reinstall the drivers like you should be able to. The result is that you basically end up bricking your mouse.

Again, that were paying $160 to be testers is bonkers to me

I'm hoping the new mouse will install drivers on my PC and i can continue using it. I really enjoy the mouse though. But yeah this is dumb. How did this EVER get past QC? I adore razor mice and they feel great. Ever since Logitech launched G-hub (god i could rant about that) i've been using pretty much razor restricted mice. But god this is awful.

If I'm too bored i'll reinstall windows on my PC., Its due for that anyways after the upgrade has left some things wierd. I need my yearly windows reinstall. If i do and it works i'll post it here. But if you like the mouse and your PC doesn't have bluetooth Asus has a $20 dongle you can get. Works great. I got if for my headphones on PC but yeah. The bluetooth feature on the V3 is actually amazing.
Not try to hijack this thread but this issue were need to be adressed seriously by razer.
