RAZER basilisk v3 wired stopped working HELP!

Hello Razer

I have been using my Razer Basilisk V3 wired mouse serial number (PM2343H21205062) for about a year without any issues. However, today, during a game, the connection dropped despite the cable being plugged in. The connection intermittently comes back for about 3 minutes before disconnecting again.

Razer Central shows the device as "disconnected," and the same happens in Windows Device Manager, where the device appears and disappears intermittently. Strangely, the mouse works perfectly fine on my work computer, but I experience this issue only on my personal computer.

Here are the steps I’ve tried so far to resolve the issue:

1. Uninstalled the device from Device Manager and reinstalled it.

2. Uninstalled and reinstalled Razer Central and Synapse software.

3. Updated the software, but the issue persists (works for 3 minutes, then disconnects again).

I would greatly appreciate your guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this issue.

Thank you,

Did this topic help you find an answer to your question?

Cable is not damaged? Will it disconnect if you’ll try to move cable around the headset or around the USB plug itself (2 most critical areas prone to damage).

Hello, thank you for your valuable comment and suggestion. However, the USB and cable are not damaged. As I mentioned, they work flawlessly on other PCs without any issues. I have done a lot of research but couldn't find any solution. I live in Turkey, and accessing the Razer service network is not that easy. Unfortunately, this mouse is not cheap in Turkey either. Honestly, I don't know what to do.

Strange… I’d download some Linux live USB (for eg. Ubuntu or Linux mint) - start it from USB on the same PC where issue persist and check if the mouse works on the “faulty” PC but on different OS.

If yes - then maybe some 3rd party app is causing some conflicts or OS is corrupted, if not - I’d try to update BIOS, check other ports etc.

Dear FiszPL,

I have followed all of your suggestions. However, now only the lights are on. The mouse works for 3 seconds and then disconnects, and then reconnects, repeating this cycle. When it disconnects, the lights do not turn off. Previously, the mouse was completely dead and unresponsive. Now, at least the lights are on. Honestly, I find this issue quite strange. I even reinstalled the operating system on my computer and performed a clean installation, but it still didn't wor

Hello, my friend, I have also had this problem for days. It seems that the new version of Synapse with the latest drivers that it comes with is causing this. I had to uninstall it and wait for a new update.

Hello my friend, when you uninstall it, can you still use the mouse? Can your computer see the mouse in the Device Manager? Mine doesn't recognize it, and I'm sending it to warranty tomorrow.

I have a Razer Basilisk V3 - wired version and went through this.

Tried everything, firmware, driver removal and reinstall, Synapse reinstall, different USB port, different PC, etc etc.

Eventually found a comment on a thread here and somewhere on reddit about the free wheel scroll actuator failing. It seems to be pretty common for people with this mouse but no real information around.

With Razer’s complete lack of help for anyone outside of their warranty period, regardless of how widespread this issue is, I made a video to help people.
If you cut only the thin ribbon cable leading to the free scroll actuator, you will disable it and the mouse will be functional again but will only have tactile scroll.
You can test if this is your issue before proceeding by unplugging the ribbon cable and testing if the mouse powers up before cutting it.

Hope this helps

I had problem with free wheel scroll, and after some time with lifter mouse. I finally fixed the mouse. Please find the link to the problem description and my solution how to fix it: https://insider.razer.com/razer-support-45/razer-basilisk-v3-unable-to-maintain-stable-connection-53607?postid=251038#post251038

I suppose you have the same problem.
