I had bought a Blackshark V2 X for my nephew to use with his Xbox Series S as this headset is a wired 3.5mm headset. For whatever reason, the mic does not work when connected to the controller. It works with every other device, but it will not work with any of his xbox controllers.
I have determined that the issue appears to the ‘band’ on the connector does not make appropriate contact when connected to the controller resulting in the mic not working. There are 2 solutions i have found to this; 1. is to use an xbox stereo headset adapter if you happened to have one and your controller supports it, or 2. is to use the audio and mic splitter cable that comes with the headset, and then buy another splitter that combines the audio and mic back into 1 3.5mm connector and plug it into the controller.
How and why is this happening with these headsets? I can see multiple people complaining of the same issue. This is also not the first time i have encountered a Razer product where the cable does not appear to make appropriate contact when plugged into specific devices and causing them to appear to be faulty or damaged.
