Recently some keys (random) are double typing, which is very frustrating.
I already did a firmware update, reset my keyboard to the default settings, check Windows keyboard settings, cleaned the keyboard.
Nothing seems to work.
Is there any solution to fix this?

This started happening about 2 months ago and I’ve just been dealing with it but it’s gotten so bad in the last few days that I started searching for solutions. I have a BW v3 Pro that was on software revision 1.00 something so updated to the current June 23rd firmware 3. something and it’s solved the problem. I suspect that they put a nearly imperceptible delay buffer in the key scan so that the double strike that happens within milliseconds is removed.

No, Im sorry. If u still got warranty send it back to supplier / razer. I bought a logitech now and it works, and i hope it will work longer than the razer. I expect more from a 99€ keyboard.
Edit: I just saw that I also have 1 month of warranty left on the razer. So I opened a case at my supplier for it.

I’d also try it on other PC (without synapse). Also be sure it’s connected to at least USB 3.0 or above (directly into motherboard, not via USB hub or USB ports on PC case).

In my case it suddenly stopped working right or doing the behavior described (double typing). And I had it on the same Port all the time (in my monitor hub) in the 2 years i got it. The only thing I changed was installing Windows 10 from Windows 11. But I don’t know if that was the problem.
But whatever, the logitech works now.
Maybe its more a mechanical problem….idk
Edit: I also tried changing the keyboard settings in windows keyboard settings. There u can change input speed etc. But it didn’t work also.
That firmware upgrade fixed the double / tripple typing. I always thought the firmware gets updated via Razer Synapse, which is not the case. You need to download the Firmware update .exe
Already did that. Said firmware was up to date.
i just got my blackwidow v3 and i noticed that the “i” key sometimes gets put in double.
i'm rather dissapointed, i wanted a good keyboard. even the old one i used from gxt that was cheap and has no ghosting, but i love the lighting that the blackwidow v3 has to offer.
Started getting this issue around 3 months ago, for some reason it happens more often on my mac than on my windows machine.
Purchased this around a year and a half ago, and it is infuriating. I’ve had Corsair as well, but that one took like 7 years of neglect before it started to cause issues, and even then it is not as bad as the BlackWidow 3. I still have warranty, but that means that I need a replacement to work with while the keyboard gets serviced (if I even get them to do it at all).
Suffice to say, I am not looking forward to more Razer products. I also had issues with some of their earbuds for a while. So far, only the Basilisk mouse I got keeps working fine.
For any whom this may help. I contacted the warranty company a week ago and sent them my keyboard with its attachments and instructions regarding the failing keys. I got a brand new replacement a few minutes ago, and I am typing with it now, zero issues. However, my warranty will expire in a few weeks, so if this one also gets the same issue I will have no choice but to somehow repair it myself or get something else.
Make sure to keep your receipt in a safe place. I lost mine, but I had a member card from the shop so I went there personally and they gave me a copy of my receipt, which was proof enough to get them to check the keyboard and replace it. Warranty is 2 years in my case, but I assume it varies by product, model, country, etc.
Hopefully this one lives a long life.

I’ve got the same issue with my BW Pro V4. Just started with my 1 key. It double types it even with the most recent firmware update. I’ve tried connecting to different computers and it happens even when Synapse isn’t installed. Starting an RMA on it…
I also have this issue on my Rzer Blckwidow v4 pro. As you cana see I am lso hving the issue of my ‘A’ key sometimes not registering and other times double registering. I am lelaving in aalll of the repeated letters to let you ll see how awful this is. The ‘L’ key lso has this issue s shown.
I m in the process of getting replcement keys, but this is awful.
Edit: On second thought, I will be throwing this keyboard across the room nd buy a different brand. very disappointed.

I'm sorry to hear you're facing a similar issue. Were you able to find a solution for it?
I had this issue 2 times already with 2 different products, the first time I managed to solve the issue. Basically, the issue was over-lubrication of the key switches, so if you have some experience in circuit soldering and about 6 hours of time you can desolder each individual switch take it apart and thoroughly clean it; this solved the issue.
In my case, I managed to get Razer to replace the problematic keyboard with a new unit.
Same issue, this is my second one. I replace my original for the same thing. I find if I hit the keys super hard that it happens on, itll go away for a little bit. The volume button is a different story, it just decreases on its own if I remotely touch it.
Which switches does your keyboard have? Mmy Blackwidow v3 minii has Razer Yellow switchees (the linear one) and it’s the onne with this issue as weell. But my Blackwidow v3 Pro hass Razer Green switches (the clicky one) and it has been workiing fine all along. Have had the pro for a longer time as well.
The issue wasn’t present at the start but over tiime iit has just got worse and spread throughout the keyboard

Mine is the yellow switches one. And yes it’s getting worse over time. Now 00 starts double typingg too.
so is there a fix to this or can i throw the keyboard away? sorry i cant read asian

Did you’ve tried to exit synapse (close it from tray) and test if it’ll double type?
As I said before, this is most likely a lubrication issue with the switches (if nothing else works, like updates and stuff). The only thing you can do is clean the switches, but since it is not a hot-swap you need to desolder them disassemble them, and clean them. You could try to force in some isopropyl alcohol but it is not a permanent solution, if it still has a warranty just talk to them, and they will send you another one, with the same problem…..from a good intention that they had, it turned into a recurring problem

I used to love their products. Maybe it's time to move on from them. So frustratingg 200$ for a keyboard we shouldn’t be having issues like this that could have been caught in no time with quality control.
