I just bought the Max Specced out Razer Blade 16 2024 i9 28 Core, Mini-LED, Nvidia GeForce 4090, 96 GB RAM, 8GB TB Laptop and while it is a high-performance laptop I am also pretty disappointed in a number of areas and am contemplating returning the machine over them after only owning the device for 1 week. For starters the battery life is absoutely atrocious and probably one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in the mobile computing world… Seriously. I work as a Cybersecurity Engineer with over 7 years of IT Experience and basic computing functions like creating a word document, having a browser open and casual browsing and sending e-mails via Outlook gets me a Maximum of 4 hours of battery life with the OEM charger included. Second, while the touchpad is nice and large, from day one of using my touchpad I noticeable a strange delay/lag in the touchpad which worsened while on battery. While the immediate fix was to uninstall the HID-Compliant Touch pad driver from the device manager, which did rectify the issue there is still a small remnant of the issue which other Razer Blade Models seems to have a firmware update yet the 2024 model no update available. This could be in part because of the palm rejection capabilities but this goes to my next point, the trackpad is far to large and nearly imposssible for the touchpad to not recognize your hand if you type with your wrist even slightly down. Lastly, I spent an extra 300 on a Thunderbolt Dock from Razer to get more use cases out of the newer standard ports which has a Power Delivery port of 100W, the second I connect that Thunderbolt charger, Razer software pops up saying that its charging at a lower power delivery which can degrade at the battery so im hesitant to connect it in fear that I will make the already horrible battery life worse. Seriously Razer? Why am I paying over 6K for a laptop to have this kind of issues in comparison to your competitors. I will reach out to Support as a last stand option and while I understand that with such specs eat away at the battery with casual usage I should still be able to opt for lower processing power and be able to raise it according to the need of the application and system seamlessly.
