I know this is not the first example of this, but I just wanted to know what my options are in terms of support.

My laptops battery ballooned and I have removed it and run it on it’s power brick.  This has been fine for ~9 months but it has just started to shut down whilst gaming.

 

Temps are pretty bad but I don’t have an option to de-clock it or undervolt the GPU due to the bios it’s running, and can’t downgrade to the version that will let me.

 

I have regularly cleaned what I can access with removing the gpu cooler, just with a duster can.

Good to hear you have removed the battery.

I assume your RAZER Blade has high tech standards (CPU and GPU)
Due to that standards it is releasing a lot of heat.

Try setting your fans to run manually at Max speed when gaming, by using the following article

This will help reduce the thermodynamics of heat spreading into your laptop chassis.

I know it’s not temps as I have been using openhardware monitor to log them, and nothing get over 80 degrees C.

I currently run it with the bottom case removed on top of a cooling pad...

We might need to go through some troubleshooting

Check your pc event viewer, and see if there are any error logs.

Unless you are a Windows desktop expert, sometimes the best option is to reset the Windows OS.

PC crashes occur due to lot of factors

  • Virus
  • outdated driver
  • incompatible software running on your OS
  • Corrupt registry due to a poor install
  • There are more

Recently, there was a news about large organization windows PCs crashing due to CrowdStrike update.

If your PC is crashing too often, either you can send it to an expert to examine the fault logs in the event viewer and repair what ever is causing the pc to crash.

I recall when I used Windows XP, there were a lot of vulnerabilities and crashes and the best thing I did was to reset my Windows.
