Razer Hanbo not showing CPU temp and clock speed | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I recently purchased a 240mm Hanbo from razer directly from the website.  When i had initially installed it, it worked fine.  It read out the CPU temp and clock speed.  The fans also were able to auto regulate themselves quite nicely.  After about a week or so, it somehow stopped reading the CPU temp and clock speed.  First thing i did was troubleshoot.  I checked the forum beforehand to see if there were any working solutions.  Here is what i tried:

-all cables are securely plugged in

-even when directly plugged into the board and not into a splitter, it still doesn't read.

-i checked to see if i needed new drivers for the Hanbo from razer, it is up to date.

-i reset it to factory settings, still wont read.

-i re-read the instructions to ensure i did not miss a step.  nothing should be missing,

-i even tried reinstalling synapse.  that didn't work either.

-my BIOS as well as HWMonitor are able to read CPU temp and clock speed, so its not the board or CPU.

Worth noting: the fans do not auto regulate.  They don’t full blast, but they do run pretty high, keeping the coolant almost room temp when idling.  I am forced to manually regulate them based on what i am doing.

Incase you are interested in the hardware:

AORUS Z790 WIFI 7 motherboard

NVIDIA RTX4080

Intel I7 14th gen

Should i contact razer to see if this is covered by warranty? or am i missing something obvious?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

Image below is exactly what synapse displays,

Same issue here after synapse or windows updates. Seems to be a Synapse or driver issue.

Considering the 360 is doing it too I’m guessing it’s software yeah.

Mine started a couple updates ago. Still no fix

Same issue here

Hi all, same thing, I've been trying to decide all day today.
Before this I didn't see any hardware at all in the Razer Synapse app
What's been done:
- Reinstalled Razer Synapse
- It showed everything, but no CPU temperature readings.
The problem is in the app because I tried to update the motherboard drivers, I thought the sensors were not working or something in the drivers.
In third-party applications, the temperature shows up to date.
What you wrote above, I confirm, everything is the sa

Guys, there is a temporary solution for now, I keep the temperature up.
It is to switch from “advanced” mode to “speed” mode.
That is without graphics, I realize that the solution is simple, but this is an option where the CPU will not warm up to peak values until the developers provide a solution.
The system unit will become noisier under load.
Checked at maximum load with rendering in good quality.

I'm also facing the same issue which is mentioned above, does anyone found any solution yet or we’ve to wait for Razer to  release a fix for this issue...

Has anyone solved this issue yet? Razer support told me this is a hardware malfunction issue rather than a Synapse problem. But I don’t know how does a hardware malfunction could affect so many users at the sametime.

As my warranty has gone for both my Hanbo 360 and PWM controller, I can’t get a replacement to test if this truly a hardware issue. I think I will continue to keep manully adjust the fan speed till Razer solved this problem.

@yuan_1014  They told me the same thing and asked me to download Razer Logger and reinstall Synapse 3 but all efforts went in vain. I completely agree with you because it’s a software or firmware bug, which they need to address asap because its been more than a month...

My PWM fan controller is not working as well. How it can be broken since it doesn’t even have a physical temp monitor inside it lmao, it only works with the Synapse to read the system data.

So I had the same issue as I was doing a clean reinstall and it definitely is SW or Driver related as windows gives a Core Isolation warning as it detects an potential OLD or MALICIOUS process, and after that Synapse does not work properly.

I did another reinstall and I disabled Core Integrity and Synapse worked and I got the Temp and Freq in Synapse. After that I did all the Windows Updates, restarted my System and the issue occurred, so no Temp or Freq again so it is something on Windows side or Synapse side. The hardware is all good, and everything is properly connected.

My plan is to reinstall Windows one more time but skip all updates until this is resolved.

This is a problem with Razer Synapse, it doesn't really read the CPU temperature. In other available applications everything is up to date and correct.
It is interesting that the representatives of Razer themselves write about the warranty of the product, which is physical and purchased, which has passed the warranty.
Does the Razer Synapse app come with a warranty? I guess not, because it's for user convenience.
So don't do anything to your systems, if you need to control the temperature of your hardware, do it manually for now.
Disappointed in Razer.

So following my previous post, I did the steps mentioned, and it did the trick.
I reinstalled Windows 11 from Microsoft’s official source and performed a clean installation. After that, I disabled the Core Integrity check (I have an i7 13700K) and automatic Windows Updates.
Next, I installed Razer Synapse 3 (not the New version of Synapse), and after that, the core temperature and frequency readings appeared.
Now, we should address this issue with Razer and hope for a bug fix, as the new version of Synapse still doesn’t display the temperature and frequency even after trying all the steps.

(Less destructive fix)

Hey, hope the following helps:

  • Type "Windows Security" into Windows search and open the Windows Security app

  • Click device Security from the left-hand list in the open Windows Security window

  • Click "Core isolation details" under the Core isolation header

  • If Memory integrity is On, turn this off 1st and restart the PC before doing anything else, then repeat the above steps after the restart to get back to the Core isolation window

  • Turn Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist off

  • Uninstall any and all razer software

  • Re-install Razer Synapse 3 (not their new beta one) and restart at the end of the installation as it requests.

Hopefully your CPU/GPU temps will return like mine, and you're back in working order :)

(@Razer - this is most likely a blocked driver due to Windows seeing it as a problem.... please get this sorted!)

I tried this but if you only reinstall Synapse 3 after turning Core Isolation off, the issue persists as maybe there are some residue files left from the previous installation. That is why a clean reinstall only worked for me.

Bottom line is that @Razer Admin has to fix the Drivers, as the issue is now known.

I installed the new Synapse Beta and now its showing CPU temp and Core speed...

Glad you got there in the end. Disappointing response from Razer, hopefully either yours or my advice will help some others out there having the same problem :)

All the best

I installed the new Synapse Beta and now its showing CPU temp and Core speed...

Which version is the Synapse Beta you are testing with ?

@Auriga79  Razer Synapse 4, it no longer beta according to their website.

I just updated to the Synapse 4, the problem is still there and now even the GPU temp couldn’t be shown. I will wait for serval more updates and then consider re-install my Windows  system.

It works after a restart!
