Razer Kishi not recognised | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, whenever I plug in my Razer Kishi, it is not recognising the device. It's not the connection as it still chargers the phone when plugged into a wall socket. Any ideas?

Try updating your Razer Kishi App by following the steps below:

  1. Detach and reattach the controller to your phone.
  2. Kill and re-launch the Razer Kishi app.
  3. Restart the firmware update process.
  4.  Follow the steps on how to update the Razer Kishi’s firmware through this link: https://youtu.be/Kww-JQ3jlRo.

Let me know how it went.

Hey, tried the steps and was unable to get the app to recognise the controller. Treid every combination of reconnecting the co troller, restarting the app, restarting the phone, even airplane mode. I have an older phone that I will try later today. If this phone connects, then it is software related.

No Razer Team that did not worked..! I do received the same bad sugestion by mail and it still useless I do have an Honor 50 and the phone is GREAT! But the Kishi is useless! Is not even detected! Is there another special permission or access to enable this device?

I used a different phone a galaxy S10+ and this device was recognised instantly. Firmware was updated on the controller successfully but still unable to be recognised on my device. Please help.

Hey, have you heard back from Razer regarding this? On my device, firmware was updated using a different phone. Plugged the kishi back onto my phone and still not recognised.

No, sorry @Frostbiteflowleet340, I have no answer from Razer Team. Every time I complain (sent them an email or even in the app), a different person from support attends my case and EVERYTIME they  suggest to do the same useless steps that they wrote even here. I do describe the issue perfectly, I do specify the cell phones that I’ve being using to do my testing and even specify the authorizations that I’ve enable to let the controller to be identified, but nothing works and support did not help.. It still the same, the version of the ‘Razer Kishi Android Xbox’ still on 02.70, I do really love the controller, but till now, is an ‘expensive paperweight’. 😪💔

Damn ok. I tried it on a different device (Galaxy S10+) and this worked fine. I updated firmware as they said and plugged the controller back into my phone and nothing. I am running android 13 and the other phone is Android 12 so maybe this is the problem, is Android 13 not supported? I'm not sure but very frustrating.

I am currently DMing the Razer account that replied to this so let's hope I can get some answers. Whatever I find out, I will respond to this so at least you get further info too.

I have a particular situation where my fiancee and I have two of the same phone (LG Velvet 5G) on Android 13. The Razer Kishi V2 works perfectly fine on my fiancee's phone and had worked on mine until I’d factory reset it.

Basically, to answer your interrogation. Yes, Android 13 does support the Raser Kishi.

I have an android 13 and apparently Razor Kishi app doesn't seem to show up cause the playstore says it is meant for older versions and I decided to download the other one called Nexus, it also seems to unable to detect my controller which is the Razor Kishi one so idk what else to do. I just want to change and adjust my settings cause the games I play, my buttons would sometimes not work and it won't let me spam jump either, the sensitivity is pretty slow for me.

This info I have would have save me a long time of frustration,  my phone is in my pocket alot, clean out your charge port cause dust will prevent the razor from fully seeding and connecting.

Razer support has been the worst. It seems that Kishi v1 is long forgotten in favor of v2. I am using it on my Oneplus 8 and it has issue with passthrough charging. I cannot update the firmware on my Kishi. What is the point of selling a product at full price when the company is not willing to provide any support. This is criminal and someone should file a lawsuit against this kind of activity

Ok everyone. I know that this post is old but someone can find IT helping. YOU NEED TO TURN ON OTG setting. IT seems dumb but its true.

OTG on Android 13 turn on Automatically when a OTG device is connected. There is no need to turn it on every time. Kishi V1 firmware still seems to be supporting Android 10/11 and has not been updated for latest version of Android. As I said, Kishi V1 is not a priority for Razer anymore.

Hello people, I also had the same problem, I thought it was the fault of some phone update, but it was solved after cleaning the phone's charging port. It may be something silly or circumstantial but it worked for me. ඞ

I wish I could help people with the same issue, but I can not.

My phone did not recognise the device too. I tried everyting the internet had to offer, but nothing worked. It only gave me a massive headache, so I eventually gave up.

And *POOF*, just like magic, it worked!

I think my headache did the trick...🤔

Played my Kishi less that 24hours ago and it worked fine. Now when it’s plugged in, it bounces around the screen. Mine is on iPhone. Madness how frustrating this device can be.
