Razer Synapse 3 broken after recent update. Unable to use Naga Trinity.

After a recent update, my Naga Trinity no longer works. Mouse movement and side buttons have no response. After uninstalling Razer Synapse, the mouse functions, but without the ability to customise the side buttons or any other functionality that the software provided.

I have done multiple clean installs and checked all drivers are updated, and after checking the device manager I found this:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) image

I am running Windows 7 Service Pack 1. My mouse is a Razer Naga Trinity.

I have tried:

  • Disabling code signing for device drivers under Local Group Policy Editor, and doing a clean install of the software, but the Razer drivers remain unsigned and the mouse remains unresponsive;

  • Using a third party tool to manually sign the Razer device drivers in Windows Test Mode to no effect;

  • Reinstalling Windows on my computer and installing Razer Synapse to no effect;

  • Installing Windows on my spare testing computer with different hardware and installing the Razer software to no effect;

  • Changing device installation settings > Never install driver software from Windows Update and reinstalling the Razer software, to no effect.

The only working method I found was to install the software then rebooting my computer with Advanced Boot Options (pressing F8 as my computer boots) and selecting "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement". After this, my computer boots as normal and the mouse functions correctly. However, this is a temporary measure, and has to be done on every boot.

This leads me to believe that the issue lies with Razer not having got their drivers approved with Microsoft, and won't be fixed until they do so.

If anyone has a permanent fix for my issue, I would be very grateful. If I cannot get this fixed I will unfortunately be forced to immediately return my Naga Trinity for a refund and purchase a different mouse not made by Razer.
Edit: I am running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Service Pack 1.
Hey there! Thanks for posting your concerns here. Have you tried selecting navigation and assigning the left and right buttons to each with "Alt" as modifiers? I have a Razer Naga Chroma and it worked after replicating the scenario. I've assigned the "Previous and Forward functions to my "Repeat scroll up and down" buttons. Should the issue persists, please send me PM together with your Razer Synapse 3.0 logs by following the steps here. Save the files via Google Drive or to another online drive account then send me the link. I'll pick it up from there.
