Razer Synapse 3 causing Fullscreen Games to Minimise without warning

Using a program called Focus Logger

I have determined that Razer synapse 3 is causing Full screen Games to be pulled out of focus, while in a gaming session, and minimize instantly to desktop, without warning.

It can happen after 5 minutes of gaming, or 10 minutes.

Focus Logger tells me its the folder location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse3\WPFUI\Framework\Razer Synapse 3 Host and points to Razer Synapse 3.exe.

Is there anyway to stop synapse from doing this, would a full uninstall/reinstall  help here?

Is there an issue with windows 11 and synapse?

Is there a way to contact Razer about this? I love the Razer products but if this doesnt get a fix quickly i don’t know if I am still gonna be using Razer products in the future. It is designed for gaming and it shuts down the primary thing that you need for a game, a full screen….

It helps if you just close all the synaps related softwares in the task manager but my RGB lighting stops as well...

I fixed it.

You need to uninstall Razer Synapse.  I used Revo uninstaller to make sure I removed everything.

Then restart your PC.

Once restarted, Down load synapse again.  Install it.

Once installed, open synapse, click on the little Cog/gear icon on the top right.

Uncheck Notifications.

Now you should have zero issues with games minimising.

Started happening to me this week. Complete incompetence by Razer. I have all Razer stuff, headset, keyboard, mouse, webcam…. thought it was good to keep it managed all in one place.

This needs to be fixed, you provide expensive products FIX YOUR CODE!

i had the same issue. the reinstall did not work for me. i was using razer since 2014.

Now i switched to logitech for my headset keyboard and mouse.

I don’t have the time or will to deal with this problems.

Well happy to see im not they only one.

To bad this is still a thing -_-

It is the same for me too. Tried install and uninstall, all other options and nothing works. The only way is to close all razer apps. Coming from Logitech to Razer seems a bad trade...

Its beyond incompetence.  Its infuriating.  This thread is more than a year old!

Happening with mine too. I was such a fan but lately.. I dunno. My Deathadder V3 Pro had scroll issues first 3 months, and now, whenever I press Capslock, the game minimizes. What a let down.

I fixed it (sort of). The issue is (for me) with the razer software sending notifications! This even happens with the ‘how are you finding the app’ type ones.

I can’t 100% remember where it was but go into the app and just process any notifications that are there and i’v been free of the drop outs ever since!

The only way to fix this problem it's to sign out and login as guest

chiming in to say that i’m also experiencing this now. razer support doesn’t seem to work either, so i can’t contact them about this bug.

If anyone else has this problem I would just reccomend unistalling the app until the next update.

This is terrible :( My games are minimizing by themselves and the focus logger I’m using confirms the apllication mentioned above by Sunnyautopark200 is indeed the culprit.

I have lodged a ticked but I know there is nothing anybody from Razer can do until the next build is released.

I also reninstalled Razer Synapse as suggested and disabled notifications. If this does not resolve the issue I will try logging in as guest.

This also occurs in my windows 11 pro 22h2

It occurs all the time in The Division 2 and in Fortnite. I was manually shutting apps down to find the culprit and when I shut this off Minimizing stopped.

Try Synapse beta

Fk no! I try a better Headset instead. More than a year and the noobs at Razer couldnt fix that problem?!

I had this same problem, begun a few days ago, no idea why. Full screen games randomly go back to desktop. A focus logger says the focus goes to Razer Synapse from the game. Updating synapse and disabling notifications in its settings made the problem go away, at least for now... I think razer should really fix their notifications thingy if that’s what caused this. It’s a real hazard you are playing in a competition and then the game disappears in middle of a fight because of something as trivial as a mouse driver being bad. This bug was bad enough I’d move to firmware settings and totally uninstall everything razer related, but then I’d lose the keyboard RGB settings which are not stored to firmware and the default rainbow effect is really bad with coloured key caps.  :C

Yesterday I installed new Razer Synapse Beta and I’m trying, for the moment no alt-tab issue

I can confirm also disabling notifications temporarily fixes the problem.

I am experiencing the same issue since yesterday, do I really have uninstall Razer Synaps to fix it?

Razer please fix this problem. c’mon!

I can’t play Rocket League without suffering this really annoying minimizing.

I even tried re-installing Windows 11 from zero plus the latest version of you Razer Synapse (4.0.76.19 today)

the only workaround at this moment is to close all the Razer software...

its been 1 year

gaming brand does not fix this sht problem.

i started to face this few month ago, and impacting me playing overwatch.  and i spend long time to find out.

i wont support razer again in future.  there are many choice in the market

I'm changing my PC, and on the new machine I'll install Windows 11. Does this problem occur also in Win11? For my actual PC with Win10 the only workaround is to disinstall Razer Synapse 3 (for my headset), mouse and keyboard working with old Synapse 2
