Replacement key caps Oranata v2

insanityNL
Hi All, I have a Razer Ornata v2 which I really love ! It seems due to the extensive usage of this great keyboard, the paint on the keycaps is wearing off. I'm looking for a complete keycap replacement, since the keyboard itself is just fine. Does anybody have a link where I can buy a set of new official razer keycaps for this keyboard? Many thanks in advance !

There are no keycaps replacements for Ornata V2.

Only mechanical / optical keyboard like BlackWidow / Huntsman and Deathstalker V2 keyboard series have ability to change keycaps.

I too need keycaps for my Ornata V2.  The wear rate is frankly unacceptable, but provided I could get keycaps for a sensible price I don’t mind replacing them myself.

Are any other series keycaps compatible?  Obviously, they need to suit an illuminated keyboard.

At price these keyboards cost it’s not acceptable that there are no replacements.  I don’t want ot have to buy another keyboard when this one is only 2 or 3 years old

No replacements as they're using its own stem design.

Considering Razer set out to sell premium gaming products I find that unacceptable to be honest.

It’s not like it’s a cheap keyboard.  I specifically selected the Ornata V2 due to the combo of clicky feel and membrane switch, as I’ve had poor results in the past with what were supposedly good quality mechanical switch keyboards, all the ones I had gave issues with ghosting and required me to use additional software to try to suppress it.

Now, might be that Razer ones are better.  I would hope so at the price.  Equally, I’d have hoped that the Ornata series would be serviceable for more than a couple of years.  On several of the more commonly-used keys the legend is now worn off almost completely on mine.

I’ve had this keyboard for just a year, and look at how the keys look—terrible! Never again, Razer.

Well I can safely say I will never give razer another cent.

The excuse about non-standard stems is pure bovine by-product, as they must have keycaps in order to be able to make keyboards.  Also the key caps are easy to remove and replace, so that’s not an issue.

The quality of the keyboard is barely adequate at the price, the keycaps wear ridiculously fast.  I’m now starting to see occasional issues where the top row of keys stop working and the leatherette surface of the wrist rest is now mostly fallen off.

Overall far from a premium product and not the sort of quality I expected from a supposedly reputable brand.

My advice to anyone considering this line of keyboards is avoid it like the plague it turns out to be.

Although this post is two years old already:

Have the exact same issue with the Oranata V3.

Seems like a common issue with a few models within the Razer line-up

I stopped using the Ornata 2 because of the lack of effective support.  I thought I was buying a premium brand that would be supported.

Got me a cheaper keyboard with proper dual-shot moulded key tops (and legit keyswitches although to be fair the Ornata did work.   Mechanically the only bad thing on the Ornata was the space bar which had no extra support.  Only real downgrade is the lack of per-key lighting but I can live with that.

Now the stupid Razer software won’t uninstall.

Chances of me ever buying another Razer product at this point are around zero.
