why don't the threads stay open for long to allow others to try and help the people posting but just long enough for a support team member to post once then close it without resolving the issues raised 

Hi @frontvineTealDeer134, great question. The support forum is for people seeking official support and quicker resolution. We encourage others to post in the respective forums for general conversations and questions, but you bring up an excellent point. Maybe there’s something we can do differently to increase community engagement and not default to the Support forum. Definitely something for us to take into consideration.
