Webcam not found Razer Blade 15 (2018)


Hi,

I'm having issues with my webcam for a number of months now, I receive the <nocamerasareattached> message when trying to open the webcam in apps. Skype and other voip apps cannot find my webcam. I can also not find it listed under device manager settings in windows 10.

Hi there, my Razer Blade 15” (2018) - Advanced have same issues now, have you fix it?
I am having the same issue.
Would need this to be changed ASAP, especially because now I am working from home!
Since the beginning of the year I have been talking to Razer support to solve this problem, but at the moment there is no concrete solution, only indications. I hope there will be a solution soon as I need teleworking for the camera to work.
I've been struggling with the same issues regarding the mic and camera not functioning and not even listed in Device Manager. I already discussed with razer support two weeks ago which didn't really help since the only self-repair option the person gave me was doing recovery from an earlier restore point. I did two of them and also recently performed multiple factory full resets hoping this might solve the issue. But no, even in safe mode, no. I've gone to every possible informatician or geek forums and have tried everything i was able to do. So i now come to you to report my case, since you've been concerned by the scale this issue has taken, among the razer blade 15 community. Hoping you'll soon find the source of this issue and you'll have a solution for us in this special time of sanitary covid crisis, where we all rely on built-in webcam and microphone.

Hey everyone! Please check the following:

a. The camera driver is not present in any category on Device Manager after updating the laptop from Windows and Razer Synapse updates.
c. The issue has been replicated after putting the laptop on Safe Mode or by creating another local Windows user account.
d. The issue persists after reverting the laptop's operating system to its factory state.

If the list above sufficed your situation, please contact our Support Team or send me a PM so I can create a case number and escalate the laptop's concern.

I have:
- checked and the camera is not anywhere in device manager.
- the issue is the same in safe mode.
- created a new local account and have the same problem.
I have backed up the laptop and will do a complete restore to factory settings. Lots of programs to reload though so hours of work ahead.
Dear Razer, this does not seem like an 'unusual' problem. I have found countless examples of exactly the same problem and error code for the camera. Is there a quick fix for this problem- mic and cam not working? It seems weird that with a factory reset, my laptop cannot see the camera t all. It sounds like the camera is dead..and microphone too. My laptop also seems to be running much hotter than normal and does hibernate when the lid is closed. I am sitting here with minimal happening but the fan is going really hard. Is the bios update 1.08 bad?
I am in Australia so dropping my laptop in for a look is impossible. I need it for my job.
I have been issued with an RMA to send my laptop to Germany to be looked at.
I currently need it for working from home, and im poretty sure ill have to pay as its outside of the one year warranty.. so im not sure its worth is.. cheaper to buy a USB webcam with built in mic.

Have you tried updating your Razer Blade from the Windows update? Have you checked if there is an available BIOS and EC firmware from our support page? Should the issue persists, please send me a PM. I'll wait for your follow-up.
Windows 10 fully up to date, BIOS and EC firmware updated... no change. Webcam going did seem to coincide with Windows 10 update....

Hi, I have tried a number of options to solve this issue however none of them has seemed to work. I am currently in the UK and so the support for Razer devices are rather limited. I was wondering if there is a fix for this that can be provided by Razer.
Any help would be appreciated, same as everyone else I seem to have no driver for my inbuilt camera and nothing is working for skype and other programmes.

No fix here I tried a number of drivers from the net. Just replied to Razer and will revert back with any progress.
