Why does my Razor Synapse keep resetting my lighting profile after restarting PC?

I have a Razer Basilisk Ultimate with the charging dock, and I have set the lighting profile to be static purple, saved and updated the profile. Everytime I shut down my PC and boot back up, the mouse and dock are both cycling colours like it did when i first bought it. Every time I have to go into lighting profile, change it from static to something else, then back to static for it to stick…. Any ideas? Thank you

The same happens here, despite I’m creating an effect with Chroma Studio.

Everything works fine even if I rename the profile, but after Windows restart, it defaults back to Spectrum and the created profile is gone.

This happens since a few weeks, before that it worked just fine.

Oh well, the Razer support is so bad. This issue has been reported multiple and the only solution is always to completely reinstall Synapse.

In my company we are answering support requests within 24 hours and have a solution or at least a date for the fix within 7 days. Here it’s just nothing within months…

It’s my first Razer product, but most definitly the last. 3 unfixable issues within the first 2 months is a no no especially for a prize of 200 Euros.

Hello All,

Condolences to all (myself included).
I have also started suffering from this issue after upgrade the synapse to latest version.

I could not find any way (logged-in or as guest) to report my problem at razer site.
And after a lot of time spent searching on google I have find 0 solutions to this problem.
If I have know this in the shop I would have left the keyboard at the store and buy a regular one with no light at a much cheaper price 😡

Just wanted to share my thought. I will try downgrading the synapse software. Hope it will work as a solution.
Will update if it works.

D I S A P P O I N T M E N T !

Great Successes ! 😆

The version that I had problem with is synapse v3.9.
I had to remove it, and delete all folder of previous installs.
Then install an older version of synapse software v3.7, once installed I restore all my light profile and my user profile and like magic everything start working like I remembered it SHOULD !

No more issue with losing all my light and customer profile settings after I restart my computer.

If you are struggling with this issue please try the following:

-Backup all user profile (for custom shortcut/custom keys) and all lighting profile (chroma software).

1. going to add/remove application (I’m on windows) removing razer synapse software.
2. restart the computer (I restart my pc after uninstalling software usually, this is not a must step!)
3. searching “razer” on drive C:\
4. deleting all folders name “Razer”
5. downloading older version of synapse software. (v 3.7 “razer-synapse-3-7-1103” is the file name.)
6. Installing older synapse version, and restarting the computer per installation request.
7. restoring the lighting profile, and only then restoring the user profile.
8. check all lighting is working and all custom keys are working.
9. restart the computer and check to see the all my light and profile are still there, MAGIC ! 😎

Hope this is helpful for everyone !

I specially made an account for this … bull%&%&.

i gonna try out your solution.

i also like to say, “dear Razer” . It’s been two months. Two. Months. Soon 3!

How is such a programm breaking issue not fixed?

What is going wrong in that company?

hopefully i dont need to delete those dll files, they are as pain to delete with cmd.

and finding the older version wasnt that easy. those websites were pretty suspicious.

works halfway so far. had to click on razer for the colours to switch to my own profile.

other problem would be about any automatic updates.

April 2024 and this problem persists, I just bought a Viper ultimate and the only way to keep the lighting profile is to have Synapse open, the mouse saves all my custom settings without a problem, but the lighting does not, great job Razer, Seeing how long this problem has been reported and the lack of a solution, it is clear how interested you are in solving it.
