I am experiencing some problems with Razer Synapse since the latest update I installed today. See bullet points below:
Razer splash screen is showing as expected when I start my PC
When I mouseover the green Synapse logo in the taskbar, the logo disappears (seems that the app is crashing upon mouseover)
Razer Synapse 3, Razer Synapse Service, and Razer Synapse Servoce Process are all showing up as running in task manager even after mouseover in previous point
When I attempt to launch Synapse manually, the taskbar icon re-appears, only to disappear again upon mouseover. RInse and repeat.
My mouse macros ARE working, even after taskbar mouseover
My keyboard macros ARE NOT working, both before and after taskbar mouseover

Hello! I’m new to this community. So, I wanted to help in some way. This issue had me on nerve for the past 4 days. I did a 2-steps solution so far and hope I can help in some way or another. (Note that this might not work for everyone). A little backstory before we dive in: This worked for me when I bought my new Cynosa V2. I have a friend who luckily didn’t update their Synapse recently (avoiding the cesspool of a mess we have rn) and I asked for a copy of their Razer folders to test things out. I transferred said files to their locations and viola! It worked. However, it was a buggy mess than what I had before. I just dealt with it since it’s better than nothing for the past 2 days. Then, my new Cynosa V2 keyboard arrived and I love it! (don’t judge me, I like how the membrane feels). I plugged it in and hope it’ll work. It did work. However, Synapse isn’t detecting it. Then, I opened Razer Central to see Synapse just automatically updating itself??! After that, it installed itself normally. For some reason, my Razer Synapse is up-to-date and IT IS WORKING?! So yeah, idk what happened but it seems it fixed itself with my Cynosa V2’s driver installing itself and forcing Synapse to update to the latest version. Thank you for listening to my little adventure.
1st solution I did was copy a friend’s copy of Synapse’s folders: mainly in Program Files (x86), go to Razer > copy Razer Services & Synapse3 folders (their version is before the latest update). Then, transfer those folders to their corresponding file location on your side. Be sure to turn off everything that’s related to Razer in your task manager before you start the file transfer. Congrats! You have Synapse working again. A bit of warning to avoid this problem in the future once you finish these steps, make sure to turn off auto-update in your settings. Just left click the icon tray in your taskbar and you’ll see the settings option.
2nd solution is quite a wild card, though. Not sure if it’ll work for everyone, but here: First, do a complete uninstall of all your drivers related to Razer. Then, uninstall Synapse. After that, open CMD in admin mode and do sfc /scannow. Be sure to remove all folders related to Razer too. If you don’t know how, refer to a comment from Vermillion Kingpin in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDFzcljkOsg . After that, restart your PC in advance startup mode. Once in the advance startup menu, open CMD again and do another sfc /scannow. The reason why you need to do this twice because sometimes it doesn’t detect corrupted/missing files/registry when you’re using your PC. If it detects problems with your PC and it needs to restart, continue to Windows and it’ll automatically do its thing. After that, this is the important step: DO NOT INSTALL RAZER SYNAPSE 3 INSTALLER from their website. Here’s how you do it. Download an old installer and install Synapse from there. After that, it should be working again. For some reason, Razer Services just stops working/connecting to their servers when you try to update Synapse, causing an endless loop, of Synapse starting up and failing and starting, it seems.
Hope I can help, have a good one!
It works !
It’s nice to see a fix posted, but honestly I don’t think the standard user should have to jump through these kinds of hoops just to get a program running again (one that was working perfectly fine before an update). Personally I used RevoUninstaller and deleted all my Razer files from my PC. I’ll wait until they release a fix and then I’ll reinstall the program.
After releasing the new update synapse works. But I have another problem because it doesn't find my devices. Anybody had the same problem?
This progress I’ve so far:
Uninstalled Razer Synapse 3 completely and deleted all its folders in “\Program Files (x86)\Razer\” and in “..\Users\<User>\Application Data\Razer\” and then rebooted.
With “Run as Administrator” I have installed the following version of “Synapse 3” + “Macros” only, no any other modules like Chroma, just turned check-boxes off for them all during install. Razer Synapse 3.7.0228.022817 (March, 8th 2022) - RazerSynapseInstaller_V1.4.0.255.exe
After login to my Razer account I can access Synapse Central icon in system tray and it doesn’t crash now, so I can configure my devices and settings and macros.
What is left to try: install latest version with RazerSynapseInstaller_V1.12.0.385.exe with Administrative privileges (“Run as Administrator”) and without any Chroma modules. We’ll see.
I hope someone will find it useful, though.
It works now, just downloaded and it loaded fine, funny how it always has issue during the gold rewards campaign… maybe just to NA?

Yes that's exactly my issue I just went thru a grueling rma process because the warranty team was incapable of giving me my shipping label after a month long process shipping being the fastest part I get my new Tartarus V2 plug it in and update and it refuses to find my Tartarus finds so 6 my other stuff like headset mice mouse dock rgb controller etc but will not find the new keyboard I've deleted drivers erased every bit of Razer synapse and their drivers per their recommendation uninstalled and reinstalled everything and it still won't find the keyboard I'm curious if a factory reset would fix it bc I'm getting driver errors in device mngmt but when I update or reinstall it give error unable to finish update then when I redo it it says newest version already installed I'm absolutely baffled
I've found out why razer synapse is not LAUNCHING/Updating/Installing (Installation at 100% crashing for all options)
It's because you should not interact with one of your razer devices, like i do too much, and that basicly results in mid razer update failing, but its permanently untill you fix your drivers. so i recommend doing this:
- Uninstall all of your razer devices/drivers, and restart your pc, wait a minute or longer untill its done.
- Relaunch razer synapse installer and only select synapse not anything below it.
I hope that solves it. If not, well its a pain i know. (I haven't tested this yet tho so it might not work well).

I tried all of that now I'm actually having issues with it not launching after restoring to before the update and the windows updates I downloaded and it's even worse than before lol do you think a factory reset would be effective or no

Well was able to update and got it to launch it's reading all my devices except the Tartarus V2 I've followed like 4 different methods multiple times and this is the only device I'm having an issue with it lights up the keys works but it does get recognized by synapse which I really need to change keybinds the way synapse is responding to all my other devices leads me to believe it's a different issue but I have no idea of how to determine that
Hey!
I’m also having multiple issues since the latest Razer Synapse update
I have never experienced these issues only until the software was most recently updated over the last few weeks or so
The issues that I am experiencing are as follows:
Upon initial PC start up - The Razer Blackwidow Elite Keyboard does not respond to any key presses on the lock/login screen although it is connected and lit up, However once clicked using the Razer Basilisk V2 Mouse to bring up the password box/pin code box to login into windows the keyboard responds.
Once on the homescreen Razer Synapse causes issues with the loading on "Wallpaper Engine", Razer Synapse also fails to load Ambient Awareness lighting effect across all devices, Keyboard, Mouse, Razer Kraken Ultimate Headset and Razer Raptor 27 Monitor.
To get it working it requires a full pc restart (Not shutdown as this will cause the issues again all over until restarted) and the issues fix themselves and everything works as it should.
Lastly, upon shutdown Razer Synapse seems to cause issues whilst the pc is shutting down and prolongs the shutdown process almost as if it is causing the system to crash in the background whilst shutting down, although no windows dump files are created.
Even at time when Synapse starts up and is running but when you click on it it says that it’s not running so can’t control any device, light effects and so on.
Furthermore I can 100% confirm I have narrowed it down to the Razer Synapse software as after a complete uninstall... Everything works as it should apart from the lighting effects (Ambient Awareness) since the software has been fully uninstalled.
Since a full uninstall of the Razer Synapse software I no longer experience issues on the startup/lock screen to login to windows,
And lastly I no longer experience issues whilst shutting down.
Strangely enough with Razer Synapse uninstalled it seems that the PC performance has increased also with regards to starting up / Logging in / Shutting down.
Despite doing a clean reinstall it still has the same issues so nothing to do with the install process just that the latest update has bugged it fully
However this is besides the point as I need the Razer Synapse software so that it integrates seamlessly across all on my Razer Products, Allow lighting effects via Razer Studio and allow games to take full ability of the chroma SDK.
After releasing the new update synapse works. But I have another problem because it doesn't find my devices. Anybody had the same problem?

It seems like the issue was not completely resolved. I have an issue which could correspond to yours. For me, I have a very weird behavior too on my Razer Blade 14. Every time the system is booting after a complete shutdown, Synapse starts just fine but the lighting of my devices is completely broken or not working at all. Especially the Blade’s very own keyboard is affected in almost all cases. Synapse is running ‘fine’, I can launch it, I see all devices there, I can even change the settings for each device - but as you can guess, it is not working on the device itself. The keys don’t light up, profiles not loaded, etc. I was already through some rounds with razer support via email but I’m sorry to say that the final suggested fix of resetting my blade to factory default will not do it for me :)
After testing every service manually and cleaning out drivers and so on, I made an interesting discovery: Synapse only fails to launch correctly after a boot from shutdown state. When the Blade is already running and I RESTART it, Synapse works like a charm, lighting and profiles are there, everything is fine. I mean, I am not tempering with boot sequences, service startups and stuff which could cause driver issues, plus, it is on Razer’s own device for which Razer nor Microsoft, AMD and so on do not supply generic driers, so I can absolutely narrow it down to a issue in Synapse.
I’m currently on Synapse3 version 3.8.228.22313
@Kalika07 An idea for a fix for your problem On the way here, I came across another issue, you might want to try. For me it helped temporarily to disable Windows’ Core Isolation to give access to the drivers. But it will, of course not do the trick by just opening it up. First, Synapse needs to be uninstalled yada-yada-yada…. then, it needs to be opened, Synapse needs to be installed, and then it might work. Afterwards I, at least, had full device recognition for my Viper mouse, Blackshark USB audio card and Keyboard again.

the thing is. I can’t uninstall Razer. I have followed the steps and nothing happens. it freezes when I click uninstall. There is literally no way of removing anything Razer related from my PC.
hello, i have multiples issues as well, some key like E is replace by F and the workaround is to clik in the razer central icon in the taskbar(just to clik on it yes), this is very strange. Macro work one time of two. Some personal profil bug when i select them, i must restart computer to not have issue, this is not serious.
The new update of synapse (24th of April) brokes the THX Spatial Audio and the Surround Sound Modes for the Barracuda Pro.
Luckily, ANC and the default Equalizer is working…..
It’s not amusing….
so my synapse started working out of nowhere. like it just works now. I didn’t do anythning to it. BUUUT, now my the THX Spatial Audio and Surround Sound doesn’t work for my Barracuda Pro…. it won’t show up on synapse either…. this is really getting to me
Agreed, my microphone on my blackshark is not working and it’s not letting me access my microphone settings in synapse, they are in fact all greyed out the microphone works if you were wondering, I use it on playstation and works perfectly, synapse has always given me problems, and right now it’s literally not letting me use my product
Barracuda pro. THX audio still don’t work.
am i the only one with this problem ?
this happened since i updated the razer synapse
