Razer synapse causes stutters

I sometimes get stutters on my Razer Blade 16.

They happen around twice a minute or so. Usually my laptop is fine most of the time. But once the stuttering starts, it usually does not stop until I have restarted the laptop.

I noticed that the stutters only really happen when my game is in fullscreen exclusive mode. On fullscreen windowed they don’t usually happen, don’t want the increased latency that comes with that though…

I tried so much, all kinds of driver upgrades and downgrades, bios updates etc. etc.

Eventually I kind of gave up on it until I had an idea - what if I close Razer Synapse?

Turns out that when I exit razer synapse during those stuttering episodes - the stutters go away…

I tried both Razer Synapse 3 and 4 reinstalls and both of them have this issue.

Is there an alternative? anything I can do? The fact that the software that is there to manage everything about my laptop causes it to stutter is just unbelievably stupid.  Please tell me there is a fix?

I think razer synapse has been causing issues with DPC system latency for some reason perhaps due to bugs from how the code interacts with system hardware or drivers. May have to do with the THX audio implementation. I had a whole bunch of issues with audio pops and clicks (which can also be caused by DPC system latency spikes) until uninstalling synapse as well. This type of latency can cause mouse stuttering, brief display/system stuttering,  or audio pops or clicks and you can check if you are getting these latency spikes measuring them using software such as LatencyMon. Are you running Windows 11 24H2? If so my guess is this may be related to all the audio issues or THX profile issues others have been posting about lately.

Not the same exact issue necessarily since I’m on a Blade 18 2024 but just thought there’s a chance its related anyway

Hey there

Adding some engagement to this in the hope more people see it and can assist!

I’m having a very similar (if not the same) issue on my 2024 Blade 16 4080. I mostly use it for Flight Sim 2024, so had assumed it was related to that game specifically, but right now I’m just deleting a large number of files on an attached USB4 SSD enclosure, and getting similar stutters which I can see if I just constantly move an explorer window around, every 10-20 seconds it will stop moving for about a second.

It’s even stopping my typing of this message!

In games, it means the 10% and 1% FSP lows are horrendous, so really hoping a solution can be found.

Saw one Reddit post about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/1dxevn2/razer_blade_16_stuttering_solutio/

The poster recommends a complete wipe and reinstall of Windows from zero, which I would really rather not do :(

Any suggestions welcome!

Cheers

Edd

Hi.

I have the same issue but on desktop pc.

7900x3d rtx 5080

When I have installed synapse 4 i see stuttering in games (for sure games which are cpu bound like pubg or cs2)
When I delete synapse 4 the problem is not visible.
This is also confirmed by blur busters at the forum.

I think when I will be changing gear I will order something without rgb, it is nice to have but in terms of performance I think is useless.

Best regards.
