Razer Tartarus V2 key mappings issues

I have a Razer Tartarus V2 and I have been using the keymapping feature of Razer Synapse for quite some time now. However due to the recent updates to Synapse 4, it no longer works. I am given the message “mappings require razer synapse” and hence no longer works.

Edit: Upon further tinkering, it seems as if its just the D-Pad that just doesn’t work anymore?

They broke this again, absolutely crazy they cannot keep the defining feature of this hardware working. Please Razer, please, stop breaking this dpad

Same here. Unable to use the Razer Tartarus V2 D-Pad since today.
When turning off Razer Synapse, the D-Pad works and triggers the default arrow keys.
Once I start up Razer Synapse, the D-Pad becomes unresponsive no matter what’s mapped to it.

I also had this issue a few months ago due to a different Synapse update. It’s insanely frustrating that Synapse updates keep bricking the D-Pad essentially rendering my Tartarus V2 useless until they fix it.

Can’t believe they keep breaking this…

Same here, but it’s just arrow keys. If I remap to other keys (i.e. wasd) it works for those keys.

Subject: Major Bug in Synapse 4 (v4.0.821) — Key Mappings Broken on Razer Tartarus Pro ("Mappings require Razer Synapse" error)

Device: Razer Tartarus Pro
Synapse Version: 4.0.821
OS: Windows 11 Pro (Build 26200.9445)

Description of the issue:
After upgrading to the latest Razer Synapse 4 (version 4.0.821), all custom key assignments on my Razer Tartarus Pro keypad have completely stopped working.

Every single key remapped via the software interface shows a green error message: "Для этого назначения требуется Razer Synapse" (This mapping requires Razer Synapse). This happens even though Razer Synapse 4 is fully running in the foreground, my Razer ID is logged in, and the device is actively recognized by the app. The profile synchronization is entirely broken, rendering a premium gaming keypad completely useless.

Steps I have already taken (None of them fixed the issue):

  1. Completely uninstalled and performed a clean re-installation of Razer Synapse 4 twice.
  2. Used the "Repair" (Восстановить) tool within the Razer Gaming Software installer 3 times.
  3. Cleared all Windows local Temp files and reset network/DNS stacks.
  4. Created new empty profiles from scratch — the issue persists on all keys.

This is a critical software-side regression that affects multiple users in the community (including Tartarus V2 owners on the Razer Insider forums reporting identical D-Pad and keymapping locks over the last few days). We buy these specialized keypads specifically for advanced key configurations, and your latest mandatory update has blocked the hardware's core functionality.

Please escalate this report directly to the software development and QA teams to release a hotfix immediately.
