Bazzite User here as well. We need Linux Support!

Razer, get yourself in position for the upcoming Steam Machine!

@razer will it be likely you will be the first 3rd party main supporter of Linux gaming with the upcoming release of the Steam machine? The Linux gaming scene is missing an official peripheral Linux supported supplier, building on the community work you could build brand loyalty by being the first…. just a thought. If the Steam Machine sells like the Steam Deck you could be in a position as being the only native supplier to 4-6 million units (not including the possible Steam OS users outside of Steam hardware).

I like many on here are, or have moved to linux. I’m on Fedora 43.

I’ve got Deathadder V3 Pro, Tartarus Pro, BlackWidow V3 pro, Basilisk V3 pro,Blackwidow V3 Tenkeyless. Along with some older worn out items.

Please get ahead of the curve. The gamer base is done with windows 11. I had window 11 pro and three months ago switched because of ads of fricking everything everywhere. I’d like to keep buying  your products, but without full linux support I may start replacing items to linux supported peripherals as they eventually will ware out. Just takes a long time to kill these lol.   please take us for real.

Bumping this thread for more coverage. I’ve been a full-on supporter of Razer products for over fifteen plus years. I’m currently on my sixth laptop along with an arsenal of accessories. The amount of money I’ve off loaded to Razer “at my own will” has been insane! It would be nice if Razer actually listened for once and helped out the Linux community with proper software support. It can’t always be a one-sided situation when customers like us are simply asking for some help.

Windows has gone down a path of no return. I can no longer sit here and support the decisions that have been made and will continue to be made. I’m hoping Razer doesn’t do the same. I’ve jumped ship and currently run Nobara and Bazzite on two separate gaming rigs I built. The Linux community is absolutely incredible, especially the devs who created programs like OpenRazer, RazerGenie and Polychromatic. Razer needs to step it up!

In closing, I know I’m a small voice, but I felt it was my obligation to support fellow gamers who are in the same situation. At this point in time the landscape of Windows is shifting, and Linux is on the rise. Now is the time to really give back to your customers and show us that you care.

In case my other comment gets rejected for saying HE double hockeysticks… I'll summarize.

Synapse 4 has been frustrating. I question whether investing in this ecosystem is worth while anymore when the main purpose is to avoid bloatware.

I will be switching to SteamOS the hecking MOMENT it launches publicly. So if there is no support for Linux, then I'll just replace my setup. I have webcam, mic, was planning on getting the effect board and thunderbolt for all these devices, headset. KB/mouse, water cooler, fans and I even built my wife a PC too. I am neck deep in this. But synapse 4 has reduced the functionality of half of these products anyway. I'm here for convenience at this point.

So consider what might happen if you aren't convenient anymore.

Probably some people saw it. Maybe others not.

But Synapse Web was released few days ago (currently only Huntsman V3 series keyboards are supported, but more peripherals will come later). It’s great because you can configure it on any system. Also be aware, that not ALL functions from normal Synapse 4 will be supported.

So after watching these main two videos from very popular content creators I really want to make the switch to bazzite as I’m also sick of bloated windows, and the spyware especially after they handed the keys to the FBI to look at your stuff without a warrant with screen sharing technology. Only thing stopping me from switching is my full razer ecosystem, and I been a razer supporter since day one your first mouse release, and continued to buy your products, and my favorite system was the SWTOR set from you guys.

I’ll make you a deal razer i’ll buy your goofy niche AI project ava and motoko products if you make synapse 4 compatible on linux.

I'm 2nd to this. Just migrating from windows and macOS to linux. We need Razer full support on Linux.

I’m also bailing from Windows to game on Linux.  My Linux of choice is CachyOS for now.  Getting it working was a pain but I’m seeing good things on Linux.  I want to use my Tartarus Pro but OpenRazer doesn’t work with it...and since the Tartarus Pro doesn’t have memory to hold a config I’m almost stuck in windows till a Linux version of Synapse can be made.

I just uninstalled Windows and moved to CachyOS. Hope for official Synapse release in the future

I also need support for Razer products. I have a Naga Trinity and I'm used to assigning mouse profiles to different programs and games. I haven't found any reasonable solution that would work for me in Linux. I've currently written a program in Phyton for a mouse with a 12-button side panel connected, but when you change the panel to 7 or 2 buttons, it doesn't detect the changes. I'm trying to figure out how to make it work on the fly when changing side panels, but I'm stuck. It doesn't work correctly yet.

Long-term Razer user here (since first Naga, had Molten exclusive). I’m only gaming on my PC-console which runs Windows, but I’m done with MS bs and switching to Linux (been using for years but only professional use).
I’m really worried about Razer not giving any official support and not doing anything for such long time. Have MS paid you to block users switching from their ecosystem? Recently bought new headset, Blackshark V3 Pro which wasn’t cheap and now you tell me I’ve wasted money cause I want to switch to normal OS instead of AI driven dump?
You srsly want all your fans migrate to Steel Series, Logitech or Corsair?

Personally, I think this approach is stupid, especially in the AI era, when it's clear that if you want to play with AI installed locally on your computer, Linux is the only option. In Windows, competing with the advantages of Windows libraries and models is a disaster. More and more people will use this not only online but also on their own devices. And if you want to maintain privacy, Linux is the only option. Therefore, I consider Razer's lack of Linux support a mistake. More and more people will look for other hardware that has similar functionality and works flawlessly with Linux.

It's kind of crazy to me that 64 people in the span of like 8 months have felt strongly enough about this to actually come post here.

Even Synapse 4 being unusable didn't bring me here. I complained about it while I was here. But I wasn't gonna log in over it.

Please bring Synapse 4 to linux! My brain works in a weird way, and my binds on my tartarus might make sense to me, but if someone else looked at  it they would think i had a stroke.

I want to switch to linux full time, but need the software to do it.

you can forget it's probably not going to happen, personally I would just need to know how the Naked Trinity mouse detects changes to the side panel, how it works in synapses and I would write such software for this mouse myself.

I wish there was some way then to reliably change mouse/gamepad binds. I am not a programmer lol. Else i would likely just make one myself at this point.

I found in the Razer Synapse logs how Windows reports a side panel change for the Razer Naga Trinity mouse. Can this be used in Linux?

I’m also here to advocate for Linux support. I’ve not made the jump from windows yet but I’m keen to. Synapse support would help with this move as I own a razer keyboard, mouse and headset.

Solution:
Install OpenRazer + Polychromatic, then enable the daemon. This works for Razer keyboards, mice, and headsets on Linux.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openrazer/stable -y
sudo apt update
sudo apt install openrazer-daemon polychromatic -y
systemctl --user enable --now openrazer-daemon

You’re welcome.

Been there tried all that and Polychromatic won’t allow me to changes settings in the Firefly V2 Pro or the Basilisk V3 Pro 35k, it does however see the Blackwidow V4 75% and let me adjust the colours etc thankfully.

The other two devices just keep saying finish setting up openrazer which it is fully setup and running properly.

So now I am at a complete loss especially because I ordered all 3 of these products because they are supported via openrazer, well supposed to be supported.

Yes, but, the one time I tried to install OpenRazer, it bricked my install. I won’t be trying it again out of precaution. Plus, I’ve heard it’s really lacking some features.

Creating macros for the Naga Trinity mouse sidebar doesn't work in Polychromatic. I've tried every solution, but it doesn't work as well as in Windows. Imput Remapper doesn't work either. You can't assign profiles to programs or games.
