I was just reviewing specs for the 2020 Blade 15 and bizarrely they removed the mini DisplayPort. So Rift / Rift S / Index users are SOL with this laptop. Bad choice Razer...

Read up on it. USB-C is NOT DisplayPort and Oculus headsets are not compatible with adapters. Plus, on the 2019 Blade the USB-C port is connected to the Intel graphics card not the nvidia one. This too makes it incompatible

I was just thinking the same thing. I am using the Oculus Rift S on my 2017 Blade Pro via the Thunderbolt 3 to DP adapter with no issues. I did have to try different adapters till I found CableMatters version for $90. I would have been much happier if Razer would have left the DP port.

Ah Ok, I see. My idea here would have been the adapter to USB C. Never had a rift. Once had one from Asus for testing purposes, you could connect it via USB C to HDMI. Please excuse me, then I didn't say anything.

No worried M-S-G. The current state of HDMI and especially USB-C are a total mess. I mean when I have conversations about cables with non-techy people they get lost when I ask which cable they have. USB-C, USB-C 2.0 PD, how many watts does it support, USB-C 3.1 gen 1 or USB-C 3.1 gen 2?

So on the Blade Pro the TB port is wired to the nVidia card? Mind linking the specific adapter you use?

No adapter will work unless the TB port is wired to the Nvidia card. On the 2019 15” Blade it isn’t. We’ll have to see if they changed that on the 2020 15” Blade
