It's hard for me to decide cause I am ready to give up on macOS and maybe use Linux instead if I get a Windows laptop but the overheating is a real deal breaker for me cause that means the laptop wouldn't last as long as expected but I'm not sure about it running cooler than the 16" MBP though. Is it when you're running heavy use or when exactly? Cause I heard that the Razer Blade 15 is one of the best laptops out there but also that it's the hottest

Yes blade 15 is one sexy and hot laptop out there:big_grin_: Depends how you use the laptop, sure on this thin and light gaming laptop category if you push using cpu boost and gpu high plus over clocking it’ll be hot due thermal room but there’s synapse to limit the performance and adjust fans curve to make it cooler without loosing much performance (fps). This is how it looks like after about an hour running far cry 6 one of titles that push cpu and gpu very well , cpu temperature never hits 90 and gpu max 78, which’s not bad at all, and fans noise is noticeable but gaming sound cover it. Not sure how cool mbp16, this is blade 15 advanced 2018 1070 maxq running on high 1080p setting, synapse profile balance with fans rpm 5200.
PS: can’t upload the picture somehow.

Just grabbed a Late 2021 Advanced with 3080 and FHD 360 Hz. Really liking it so far because it's chewing through my downloads and means I can get to gaming sooner than usual for a new computer.

Welp Since its been almost 5 days and the support thread i made has seen no traction i figure i ask here. Ill keep it simple instead of a drawn out explanation.

Here is what is happening...

Normal use browsing, videos, etc no issues on power or battery.

gaming on battery power no issues. Gaming on the power cord no matter what game it is..the system will freeze after a couple of minutes or less and brick the entire system until i hard reset. I can start on battery power and be completely fine. But not more than 30 seconds to a minute after plugging power back in while in game system freezes and I have to hard reset. Also when the system freezes it starts heating up leading me to believe there is a power issue.

Ran memtest on the power cord and it froze after 6 minutes. Ran memtest on battery for 40 minutes then plugged into the power cord and system remained stable...which to me makes no sense.

Now I was able to get diablo 3 to run max settings on the power cord but that was only after running it on battery power for at least 30 to 40 min. It was stable after that while on power however...that was only a one time thing so far.

I have performed a long memtest with no issues besides the first freeze above.. Current graphics drivers and even went so far as to completely factory reset the system back to windows 10.

So I am thinking it is either a battery problem or a power brick problem as the game will run using the gpu.

I have not opened up the back as I am currently out of town to see if the battery is swelling or to even just reseat the ram or put the original sticks back in to see if for some reason it is the faster ram which i doubt is the case because it runs fine on battery power.

But Honestly I am on my last strands with this thing and close to taking it out back and putting it to pasture..It is a 100% consistent problem which again leads me to think battery or power brick is the culprit.

This is a relatively new issue as well which started out of nowhere. The rest of the time this thing has been a tank of a machine with no issues..until now..

Any help or direction on this would be greatly appreciated as I am on my last few strands with this machine.

Thank you

blade 15 advanced (2019) model 2070 max-q..

Open it and try put back the original ram, not on game but I heard before some new ram doesn’t work well with blade hardware and causing freezing when running the Nvidia gpu, it was from someone who using for editing and need more ram to do her job. I think it’s worth to try, new hardware sometimes brings side effects, not always an upgrade, like on advanced 2018 15 new ssd slightly make the gpu performance slower (noticed from benchmarks not on real world usage), and on blade 14 new ssd feel like slightly lower the sound quality, the later I’m not quite sure since the speaker isn’t that great and using a MacBook recently so maybe it’s just me.
Please Release AMD + Nvidia Config for Blade 15. It isn't like intel is the only high-end choice. Come on!

Well here I am using such a laptop SUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 for me it is just incredible in the process of gaming, it's just a head above the other models similar to him, but here not long ago I had a problem, displays an error associated with ip, and in the game, it is very much in the way, this happened after a year of using it. The problem is very easy to solve and you can solve it yourself. 192.168.1.1 is the main IP address of many popular routers, you can easily manage and change the necessary network settings.

In what world is this the best gaming laptop?!

Mine overheats to the point of being unable to actually press the E, R, F or D keys without burning my fingers whilst trying to run games that are nowhere near AAA-level demands such as Raft or League of Legends. It's a joke. Not to mention that the trackpad jams, the webcam is appalling, the fan is permanently running on jet engine mode even when I'm not running games or high usage programs, and the screen will randomly black out at random intervals for the first 10mins after coming out of sleep sometimes.

I have friends with Razers too and theirs have had the actual casing warp from overheating to the point that they can't squarely shut the lid anymore... AVOID THIS LAPTOP.

That sure sounds worrying. What year of a model are you talking about?
hello, sorry but i dont know where to go and who to ask.the support chat only for US.im from Malaysia. is there any chance i can recover my account if can't acces to my phone anymore or my old phone number.

Thank you for that complete answer. That will really help me to make a choice for my new laptop.
I know that it's strange to ask for the power supply but I'm a 160cm 45kg woman and I'm so sick of carrying my old and big 17' asus ROG, and his heavy power supply.

Nowadays gaming laptops has usb C that support power delivery so you can use a lot smaller power brick to charge it like for example Gan charger, I personally use Razer Gan charger with blade 14, but in order to get full performance like gaming you still have to use original power brick, smaller one is for something that doesn’t need hardware full performance like paperwork, browsing and media consumption etc.
i think it is the best

Yes you can upgrade the ram there’re 2 slot ram, once you open the bottom lid you’ll find it clearly. Up to 64gb you can upgrade it. Power supply is weighing around 700gr, around 17x7x 25cm slim compact design with cable management belt. Color accuracy it depends specific model, so far owning various blade laptops (14 2015, stealth 2016, 14 2017, advanced 2018, stealth 2019, book 13 2020, 14 2021) the color is s one of the best in windows laptops, not the brightest one or as great as a mac laptops color accuracy but on windows laptops it’s on top class imo.

Hi, some stupid questions :
Is the ram upgradable ? If yes, what's the max.
And how is the power supply ( is it big, the weight ) ?
Does the basic screen is great in terms of colorimetry ?

Thanks in advance for your reply

Hates off....
wish i could get it
I was wondering if there any chance to reduce the design or make it much smaller for the power adapter without reducing the power supply.
