I like the razer blade series but i think it is a little over priced. This is what i think though
Page 1 / 1
Unfortunately, it is expensive due to the Razer brand tax, but having used mine for 1st month, that tax is worth it imo. The build quality is solid compared to my brother's MSI GS65 and when you are using your Razer Blade outside and other serious gamers see your Blade, their reaction is priceless.
I hit YES but like the above poster said you are paying a premium for the build quality and aesthetics.
Even though I think its expensive ive bought 4 Razer Blades and plan to keep buying them whenever a new one with substantial upgrades come out.
The only other laptop that comes close to that premium finish and feel you get when using a Razer Blade is the Dell XPS series (which is arguably better built even) but unfortunately they dont put better gpus in them. Think they cap out at 1050 or 1050Ti. Not even considering Macs in this discussion for obvious reasons.
So end of the day if you want a premium quality laptop with the best aesthetics theres only one clear choice.

What Razer tax? If I look at the direct competition (Gigabyte Aorus, Asus Zephyrus, ... I'm excluding cheap laptops made of plastic with poor cooling), they are pretty much priced the same and Razer is sometimes cheaper for the same config.
But my wallet still thinks they are all a bit pricey
I know All of razer’s products are hi quality but don’t you think they could make it a little cheaper

On pheriperals there’s essential that are cheaper than elite, on Blade 15 there’s base model that is cheaper than advanced model, on Blade Pro there’s FHD options which is also a lot cheaper. On Systems you get Blade build quality with down specs like gpu, cooling solution, screen refresh rate/resolution etc in that lower price tag. Back on n 2016 there was only two options expensive Blade 14 or way more expensive Blade Pro:smile_:. Though personally I miss Blade stealth under €1K, I have that 2016 model which is great as works laptop and can occasionally pairing with Razer core to play real games.
people overestimate how much of an actual razer tax there is on most of their products, especially in their laptops. look at the competition, performance and features overall, its about worth as much as they make you pay, and thats not even mentioning the brand and build quality. when you look at some of their other products such as some peripherals and accessories I will have to agree that it exists.
but honestly keeping in mind the rnd they are doing and how they are not profitable yet, i can see the reasoning behind their pricing.

You should be blind or retarted to think that Razer Blade is cheap, not counting if you're a bilionaire.
I never once said it was cheap, just a logical price to fall under I guess? I had more of the blade 13 and the 15 base model in mind when i wrote that previous reply, but I feel like it applies to the later models of the 15 as well.

There’re a lot laptops categories out there, netbook, ultrabook, Multimedia Laptop, gaming laptop, 2 in 1, thin and light, desktop replacement etc. User can choose which one they need depending their usage and budget. Gaming laptops is more expensive than other categories because the portability and the power that’s packed inside. I find Razer Blade 15 has the best balance between two of it, powerful performance in small package, plus its aesthetic factor, it makes the price higher than other brand.

Agree Razer Blade is not cheap, about this it’s subjective. For you there’s two categories budget laptop and expensive laptop:wink_:
Billionaires don’t buy laptops btw, there’s two possibilities, they pick it from their friend Apple store or their employees buy it for them as a gift, and again most probably Apple laptops:smile_:

6 months into having this laptop I have never had a more regretful purchase in my life. It worked great at first! Now the GPU is overheating so quickly its impossible to do anything on. The temperatures skyrocket over 200 degrees in mere minutes. The Fps as a result is a resounding 5 FPS.
So I contact Razer support. After getting the run around about drivers. (all of mine were up to date) Rolling with the punches I reinstalled all the drivers 3 different times. Did BIOS updates. Even completely wiped my computer to no avail. Obviously its a hardware issue. Whether the fans aren't working correctly or the thermal pasting is bad I have no clue.
Upon having this happen. I request a replacement. Seeing as I still have the manufacturers warranty and the Geek Squad Total Tech Support package. I have been met with resounding resistance on both best buys and Razers end. From being lied to in chats to being completely ignored to complete and utter disrespectful and unprofessional behavior.
Now I am currently deployed in Afghanistan so bringing the laptop in to be fixed obviously is not an option. So I ask if there is any sort of work around. The only work around they will offer is for me to send it back state side to my wife who will then have to bring it in to be repaired who will then have to ship it back to me. For anyone who has been deployed you know how mail works. I'd probably be home before I even received it again.
The price tag of this computer was $2300 with all the warranties and protections i had purchased the total came out to be 2842.84
Now when i purchsed those warranties I explicitly asked if i would be covered while overseas. The response i received was of course! Well that has been the complete opposite of what has happened in the last month of me contacted tech support and customer services to get my issue resolved.
Razers only offer was for me to also send it back for repairs and a Whopping 50 dollar instore credit. As if i would ever buy a razer product again after this.
If you do decide on this laptop i only wish you never have to deal with the customer service side!
Go Asus or MSI and save the headache!
I will never purchase anything from Best Buy or Razer again.
Laptops temperature won’t go 200 degrees on around 100 the system will shut it down. What game were you playing? 5fps means you play on intel iGPU or your nvidia gpu is dead because that “200” degrees.

100 degrees Celsius is 212 degrees farenheit. It was the division when i first noticed it but it happens on any game I play

I see. I just actually played the game today on 10 months old Blade 15, even on gaming mode it shouldn’t get that high max temperature was on maybe 94 on long session, turning it to balance mode it’ll never hit high 80ish mostly on mid, it’s the cpu gpu won’t hit 80ish usually. On ultra 1080p I saw around 80ish more and less FPS with 1070mq. Probably you got bad repasting job or defective gpu and RMA is the best way imo, having it like that on the country without support is suck. I saw most reviews on notebookcheck shows thermal throttling on this 6 cores cpu, especially on thin light for having minimal cooling room, Alienware, MSI, Gigabyte etc is suffering by this. Unfortunately users can’t use it on its max capability out of box without sacrificing performance or thermal, they have to tweak it them self to get the best performance and temperature, I’m not talking about Razer Blade, Alienware M15 hits also over “200” out of box, MSI gs65 has better cpu performance because they use less powerful gpu type, same as Gigabyte Aero 15x. So if you can manage cpu behavior (for example undervolting, limiting tdp, repasting or bios tweaking if needed) on Blade 15 you’ll get a decent portable machine.
And I understand no computer is perfect but the customer service here has been just abysmal. If I new how to do those things I would try to do them here in Afghanistan.

I know when I ran XTU just to see what was going on I just immediately started thermal throttling.
Razer blade series is indeed expensive but so is all the major gaming machines with high end specs like the Razer blade series. Even though they are pricey but when we look at the quality of the hardware and the software specs injected in it, it does justify its price and there are other factors like the manufacturing/assembling/making charges which contribute it to making the $$$$ go higher.
Again, as the saying goes " you want quality, you gotta pay for it".
Personally its expensive for me but i am already piggybanking to get one myself :smile_: and hopefully it will fill up soon to get my hands on one of the Razer blade's :cool_:

Hey @Joikansai the peripherals/specs which is mentioned at the bottom of your posts/replies, is it like you manually paste it everytime after a post or its already set by default to come in all your postings?
Let me know, thanks in advance. Cheers!

It’s my signature, you can add it from my account setting. I’m too lazy writing all that or copy pasting in every my post lol:smile_:
You can put your gears, pc specs or some benchmarks from your setting like me. I put benchmarks from Blade and core setting, hope it’ll be useful for users who want to know Blade performance. I used to put max OC result on Blade 14 but on Blade 15 I put also balanced (cpu performance limited), gaming (default gpu and cpu max performance) and my personal overclocking profil. Egpu setting mostly I overclocking the gpu since it’s how most people use desktop gpu.

Quality?!
First one I got had a dead pixel and did not stand straight on the desk, second one again a dead pixel and some scratches they tried to paint over.
The keys are crooked on every unit that I see!

Did you buy it from the Razer official store/online ?
Even if you face issues like the dead pixels, you can get it rectified with the Razer support, they do try their best to get the customer issues resolved at the least time possible always. I hope you did that and got it all settled.

No, I bought it in a German online store of an electronic reseller. Well...the Razer support isn't really established here in Germany. You get replies by the international support when you contact them.

Hmm, yes i understand that. Because Razer does not have a base here in India also yet. So i usually get my Razer products from either amazon.in sellers (by checking with the sellers who import the peripherals) and family/friends coming from the U.S.
Hopefully you should get the support resolving your issues soon.
Also do remember to make sure you add it under the products site to get the warranty in place. Pasting the url below in case you haven't done it already,
