As @misterg36 mentioned core v1 could even run 2080ti, since theoretically 2080ti gaming power consumption (on default, OC depends the card) won’t reach max corev2 power supply limit 375watt. But note it’s still not officially supported on corev2 website and if there’s any damage on gpu or enclosure, manufacturer may check gpu compatibility on the website.
As I mentioned above I had defective issue with 2070 Black and Evga was searching for the reason, but fortunately I had before their xc 2080 gaming that worked well over a month and almost a month using 2080ti before I sold it for downgrading to 2080, those are the reason they judged that it wasn’t on core v2 that caused the damage but the gpu itself, I provided them as well my over a year core v2 1080ti that was without single a issue.
So get it from somewhere with great CS and easily to exchange if there’s something wrong.
If you’re looking for a number, here’s timespy with stealth v2 2016 and Blade 15 as the host with xc2080 gaming on core v2.
