Static Lighting Goes Away When Synapse Closes

Why doesn't my lighting profile get loaded onto mouse onboard memory? I need to have Synapse running and collecting/selling my system data at all times just to have a simple static lighting effect on my Naga Pro? This is highly frustrating. Part of the reason I bought the mouse was because of the onboard memory.

I'm having a similar issue with the Naga Trinity. In my case I ultimately will be using it through a USB hub and multiple computers, so having the software running won't help because it won't be plugged in directly to a computer. I'd like to know if this is a defect or if it "works as designed".
