RBS Mercury White Late 2019 60-70° playing Oldschool Runescape

Doing literally nothing else not even running a browser. Just fresh restart, Synapse on, <1 week old laptop, High Performance setting on Power Settings and Synapse. 60-70° when playing oldschool runescape... is this what I should have expected?

Okay so I did a little messing around, I made a power profile for playing osrs. Turned max processor speed down to 80% on plugged in or battery. Now my temps don't go above 50°. Game's smooth. I can run a browser with a few tabs open too. Not terrible at least... But basically an underclock is required for acceptable temps.

Yes it’s pretty normal for laptop, I’d say great because you’re running all cores max frequency.

To be honest man I'm not comfortable with it running at ~60-70 degrees, fans audibly spinning up and palpably quite warm to the palms.. when playing a browser game from 1998.. I'm content with the underlock results though...

I see, idk about that game but you’re running on max core, that explains “high” temperature. Yes of course you can limit cores turbo amplifier but it’s to me personally wasting its performance, if it’s fine for you it’s good though. For your information I’m running games from 2018 on Blade 15 advanced 2018 mostly on 80ish for two years without any problems, and old stealth (2016) when playing games i saw low 90 often with Undervolting since cooling isn’t as great as Blade 15. On stealth I did limit the turbo boost to 99% though to avoid spiking to max turbo boost and keep it on base clock.
