Thunderbolt 3problems/bios problem
Hello
So i got a new
Razer Blade
Core i7 16GB 256GB SSD 15.6" 60Hz GTX 1060
It came pre installed with windows home, i dont want that so i re installed it with windows 10 pro ( have to be able to connect it to AD )
I tried two diff thunderbolt docks wd15 and elgato thunderbolt 3 dock.
Now to the problem:
With the elgato thunderbolt dock i cant get the charging to work. This made me go with the dell wd15 dock ( big misstake )
WD15 dock no picture, no lan, no charging.
I read that many use the wd15 and it works.
So now to my next problem is this a bios promblem i thought?
Problem: i cant update bios cause i reinstalled windows 10 pro and now the update tool dosent recon that my laptop is a blade.
What to do? And what dock is compatible with this laptop?

Your TB3 issue has nothing to do with windows version and BIOS Update. It’s because TB3 can only deliver up to 100watt power, and your Blade need more than that to power its system, so you need your ac adapter plugged. Only low wattage laptop like ultrabook and dell xps15 or MacBook Pro 15 can charge with TB3 connection but it’s useless especially on xps15 with dgpu, since it charges very slow apparently. I’m not sure about WD Dock that didn’t work transferring the video data but maybe you want to look at Lenovo TB3 dock, according to this thread, it works for Blade 15 as well.

JoikansaiSo do u have any clue how to get the bios update to work again? Trying to install with razer update tool it just says its not a razer blade.

Which model Blade (advanced/base) and bios version do u have?
