Which CPU to get? (Best Performance Value)

I’m completely blind about Ryzen but if the difference only 60 bucks and you get latest (from series number) and better (from tdp and clock) I would wait for Ryzen what...yes that $330 one. CPU is the brain so i would pay extra for that.

It's quite a pain to give an advice on something that we only have seen the specs but hasn't been reviewed by anyone by now. But seeing that the 2700X has better value than his non X version, it's quite a great product. If the 3700X perform as well as his big brother does, with double cores and higher frenquencies (up to 5Ghz on boost) it may become a beast. Don't know what's your budget limit but you can also wait for this one : Ryzen 9 3800X 16/32 N/A 3.9/4.7GHz 125W $449 launch : CES But you have to consider the price of the motherboard, Zen 3 will run on previous AM4 chipsets but we still don't know if you'll need a X570 one to get the best of them. Can't be sure if it helps you choose but imo those points are important. But i'll go for the 3700X for less than 400$ and the 3800X or even the 3850X (launch in may 2019) if my wallet allows it when i'll change my rig.

Hi, one thing bothered me tho. Ryzen 2700 has lower tdp and less produce less heat significantly. 2700x has a higher frequency but more tdp and higher temperature. Will it increase performance but produce unstable fps due to thermal throttling if the computer is on 24/7 full time?

Hmm, thanks for the video. I think I would prefer amd for cpu as it is much cheaper and the tdp for some amd cpu model is lower and offers more cores. Although the clock speed is lower but I think amd is still better because first, you buy it cheaper, second you save more on electrical bills, third you can multitask and render projects and videos or even do game streaming without breaking a sweat and fouth more future games will render on multicores so I don't need to worry about slower production speed and current fps as it will be improved over time with game patches and added features. PS: Intel should bring down their cpu price if they want to compete with amd or they will end up the same as Apple😂

I'd take the i5-8600k over any AMD CPU any day... But if you are really set on AMD I have no idea but I heard there are new ones being announced so I'd wait a little to buy one.

Hi, 105W TDP isn't a problem in common use 24/7 even with the stock cooler. At least if your case has enough airflow. Note that at full speed it become noisy but still do the job. If you want to OC you'll have to change for another cooling device being air ex : Dark Rock 4 or water Silent Loop 240. I have an old I7 870, with a 95W TDP at 2.93Ghz that i OC at 3.52 with a Dark Rock 3 without hitting more that 65°C/149°F and it's quite really discret even at full speed.

Wow it seems like custom cooler is a necessity to hit lower temperature or around 65 celcius. I will really focus on temperature because like my current laptop is experiencing thermal throttling as I open it 24/7 ever since I bought it and it causes games to stutter over a period of time running the game like csgo which I can't enable vsync as it will introduce latency in reaction. Damn laptop I used 3 laptops Asus S56CB, Asus ROG GL552 and this Lenovo Y520 ,all the same, never a good impression for me in gaming, can't upgrade the component inside and experience thermal throttling, that's why I am going for desktop, and recently got exposed to oc, planning to do that but maintain low temperature to prevent thermal throttling. Not really in value. Air coolers price goes from 10$ to 130$, the best have a big radiator and 2 fans to maximise airflow. You can fin AIO from 120mm, 140, 240, 280 to 360. but the price can climb up to more than 200$ (even 500 fot a DIY kit). Thanks. By the way, is it true that AIO and water cooler face leakage issue over 5 years time and sometimes sooner which damages the computer component?

If Ryzen 7 3700x can play as high FPS as intel i7 8700k in Starcraft 2, meaning that it is best value in term of cores count and IPC. But unfortunately it would not available until mid of 2019?

I don't think it will delay because of that. But the reason the CPU come in mid 2019 simply because of compromising life cycle of Ryzen 7 2700x that released on 19 April 2018. Since the leak of CES 2019 is full of amd mobile CPU, most likely they might not even talk about Ryzen Zen 2... And more unfortunately, they might release after Taiwan Computex 2019, together with x570 mobo...:frown_: Anyway, as long as there is benchmark of Starcraft 2 using Ryzen 7 3700x with very good result (as i7 8700k is enough), showing that one core IPC got a huge improve. (at least to me) I will definitely buy Ryzen Zen 2!:big_grin_:

Based on what i've seen until now the 3700X should be launched at the CES.
