Kraken X sounds terrible

Hey guys, Yesterday I bought the Kraken X (3.5mm) new and upon trying them out I was shocked as to how bad they sound. They completely lack bass, sound really hollow, and the high end really hurts my ears to the point where it's uncomfortable to play anything. I've tried with and without 7.1 on and I've tried an EQ to try and fix this but nothing I try makes it any better. I hate to say this, and I hope I am wrong but, these feel right now like the worst headset I have ever used and that really confuses me because I was expecting something a lot lot better. I've contacted support for help but they haven't got back to me yet. Has anyone else had this issue with this headset?

Audio has always been a tricky subject, and I'm guessing that the tuning of the headset you received may not be to your liking. I'm sure you've already tried playing with the EQ, so there's not much that I can suggest. That said, do you get the same results on a smartphone with and without using the splitter cable?
