Blade 15 (2018) wont update to win10 1809

For the record it is an issue with the Intel Audio Display Driver IntcDAud.sys, you must update the intel graphics driver to version 24.20.100.6286 before the win10 1809 update will be available.

Razer Blade 14' (2016) here. What is the best way to do these updates? I know you can download the drivers from Intel... but my system seems to be working OK. Any official Razer way of updating this? It seems that Synapse does not handle drivers yet

Synapse is just RGB software, not a driver update utility. If your system is running ok you don't necessarily need to update. There are a few Windows updates that patch major security flaws, but for just a home user you are probably fine. Are you running Windows10?

But to more directly answer your question: -The best way is usually to just let WIndows update do it's thing. If you are very slightly more computer savvy, then do them automatically once you can read online that they work and are not buggy. In this instance the update came out almost 6 months ago and it's Intel that is not auto updating. Windows10 will block you from downloading the latest 1809 update if you have the old intel driver installed because it causes stability issues. For me, I wanted everything to match my desktop, and wanted the latest security patches. -I'm too new to Razer's brand to know if they roll out any updates on their website, and usually companies like MSI, Gigabyte etc are a little slower on the draw. If you know what to look for then you can just do it yourself, it's fairly simple.

In general I'm not really eager to get Windows updates... but I heard this one includes performance improvements for meltdown and spectre fixes, so apparently it should be worth it.

Right. I really don't think updating the integrated graphics driver will do anything negative, especially if you are usually using the dedicated GPU for gaming. Its always a good idea to create a restore point before doing a manual update. After that just be sure to: 1.) google search for " Intel Graphics Driver 24.20.100.6286", download it from intels site. 2.) In your windows search bar type "Device Manager" 3.) Click the down arrow next to display adapters, right click on the intel one, select update, 4.) IMPORTANT: select "browse my computer for driver software" and select the driver you just downloaded from intel. Don't let it search the web. 5.) Let it finish the update and then restart and in the windows search bar type "update" and run windows "check for updates", let all install. 6.) As an after thought in case you don't already know, do not do this with your Nvidia graphics driver. In order to update an Nvidia one you need to first completely remove the previous one or you will potentially have performance issues.

It should... I think. A fix will probably roll out months from now.

and for the record I should have stated driver 24.20.100.6286 or newer. I think there is a 25_ _ _ _ _ out now which would be fine too.

Just to provide a follow up and for anyone that comes looking for info to this thread. I updated the video driver and, effectively, the update started to appear. But, I was unable to install it. Weird Windows Update errors started to rise, those kind of generic errors that Microsoft likes so much that are impossible to diagnose. I ended creating an ISO with the Windows ISO Creation tool and installed a fresh copy of windows, fully updated to 2018 October Update. Three days have passed and everything seems to be peachy. I had one issue though: the interface was kind of laggy / slow, I looked around and it seems to be a problem with Windows Defender realtime protection and winver 1809. I disabled realtime protection for the time being and things look just good.
