Barracuda pro not working after firmware update

I received the barracuda pro as a christmas gift and when I finally got it connected to the PC it asked me to perform a firmware update of both the usb-c dongle as the headset itself.

I had updated my PC beforehand as requested in the installation guide, made sure all was done on the end of my windows 11.

When i conected the headset and dongle they got detected straight away and worked like a charm, but then came the firmware update. It failed at 90% and asked to retry. I did that but got same issue again. Headset was shown as updated but the dongle wasn't.

After many tries I gave up and would check the next day. When launching synapse 3.0 it wouldn't detect the headset nor dongle anymore. Retried the firmware update, but now I can't even launch it since it stays stuck on step1 : connect dongle to my PC. Tried with usb-c port, usb-a to usb-c female cable provided with the headset, different PC with different OS. Nothing worked and now I have the feeling that my amazing gift turns out to be faulty brcause of the requested firmware update.

Please provide support on the matter because this is ridiculous beyond words!

Hi - i have exactly the same problem - the firmware updater failed at 90% and asked me to retry. Tried to retry it and now it is just stuck at “plug in the wireless dongle directly to your pc” …. cant use the headphones - not even an hour old.

 

Any solutions apart from taking them back or rma’ing ?

 

It seems that the firmware update for the Barracuda Pro headset and dongle has caused some issues, with the update failing at 90% and causing the headset and dongle to no longer be detected by Synapse 3.0. Despite trying multiple methods, including different ports and PCs, the firmware update remains stuck on step 1. It is possible that the gift may be faulty due to the requested update.

You must connect your headphone to other PC and update firmware again, if it complete you can connect your headphone on main PC

Tried to update it on my brother’s PC but there it wouldnt even recognize the dongle on the PC anymore. So i couldnt update the firmware on another PC either

Ok so I got rid of the problem by returning the Headset, and getting a replacement. Even tho the same issue happened again, somehow the sound problem got still fixed and it worked perfectly ever since. I suggest you try it on a mobile device to test the sound quality and if it doesn’t sound that dampened again the software update went through.

After the update fails, connecting to other computers cannot be recognized by the computer
