I've been having a terrible experience with these headphones. They were working, if badly via the USB (vague sound, distant 3d effects, microphone quiet etc) They work fine when not using the USB dongle.

But now, after today's latest update to razer synapse, it completely died and was producing nothing but static across the USB dongle. When i plugged the headphones directly into the PC sound card they work fine. Also... finally i uninstalled Synapse entirely and low and behold the headphones work again crystal clear through the USB dongle. I'm now trying to do a completely fresh install of synapse again...

This is windows 10 with Synapse 3.3.1012.101219

Edit: btw, i have already checked for latest updates and there are none. This is a major breaking bug and needs to be fixed. I only bought these headphones a couple weeks ago and probably going to take back. shame because my last Razer headphones were good. last i buy unfortunately, once bitten twice shy etc...

Ok just re-installed and sure enough sound comes through terribly static. For example moving the windows volume slider i can sometimes hear the standard sound/chime. but most of the time hear nothing but an horrendous static. This was not happening before the latest version.
Same issue for me. If you uninstall Synapse it works fine.

I took mine back to jbhifi and swapped for a steelseries arctis v5. Competing product. USB, similar switch between chat / gaming sound etc and most importantly no strange distant spatial sound i experienced with the razer tournament usb sound card. I suggest you do the same given the complete lack of support on here for this.
Same problem here.Switched back to Synapse 2 and surround pro.Will wait for a fix.I also tried sending a report and it says i didn't have internet connection ....

They told me to try e few things but the did't work and now i'm waiting for reply from them.Also will mention what you told me when they reply.
Yup, something got messed up during a Synapse update. There are at least 3 of us with the issue. I mean its pretty clear, it works without synapse installed. It breaks when synapse 3 is installed. SO the THX USB is fine.
Yep as TW1SM said, it worked fine for me until the latest software update of Synapse3, then it broke. After uninstalling and going back to synapse 2 it worked, or when i bypassed the usb/thx box by plugging into another soundcard it worked too. So something wrong with the latest update to synapse3.
Did you guys filed a feedback to them to let them know it's not isulated issue ? It's more of us for sure because not everyone knows about insider forum.Synapse 2 works for me like a charm and im using it since beta with surround pro ot my old Kraken pro.I'm still waiting for reply from them
The new update didn't fix it.I'm starting to think about RMA-ing them

I contacted the store from which i bought the headset and the wanted me to sent it for a test because i told them i can't do it on another PC .That happened monday .Today Friday they called me and the problem occured when they test it.Automaticlly they RMA it and will send me a new one.I told them about the thread here but the said im the only one to contact the with Kraken TE problem.So for me it was bad thx controller maybe but im having one in mind for the firmware messing up something.
Now im 100 % sure its a firmware problem.I received the replacement headset and this is stll occuring.I was promted to update the firmware to 88
Ah! anyway if you default the sound into Kraken TE - Chat, it will not have the static. It seem like only theKraken TE - Game is causing the issue.

This works the sound is flat and the bass doesn't work but it something
The update from today 17.12 fixed most of the crackles i personaly can torelate it for now except but it still need work to be 100% correctly working.
mine still the same when theres a high sound like when somebody joins your dicord channel or leaves it starts cutting audio then you wait soem minutes and it goes but sometimes its get worse

Switch the default playback audio device to Kraken TE Chat the knob on the spartial audio hold down until i bees one time and a few secs wil beep again.And you will use them mostly fine.Well it will be withould the thx spartial audio and the sound will be flat but you can get used yo it.That what we can do for now except waiting for a fix.I have open comunication with Razer staff will see what is what.

This means that there may be third party software installed that is affecting your Razer Software to behave this way.

It's basically unserious.We here running different software but having the same problem.Synapse 3 shoudn't be affected by any other software.The only thing that may affect it is the default sound card drivers and the nvidia drivers.I can't uninstall them...
you know what i did? i reinstall all the Razer software did a clean install and it works now sometimes starts again but stops after like 5 secs so i guess it worked

It's the same no change at all.The problem is mechanical sounds like train moving it crackles then.Can you tell me what programs you have running at the backround.Im thinking the stock audio drivers mess up the things
