March Security Update Now Available [RP2] [Global]

    Hey insiders!

    Razer have dropped a new update for global variants of the Razer Phone 2!

    This update includes
    • All security patches throughout March 2020

    Woa, wasn't hoping to see an update anymore for my RP2. Sweet! :smile_:

    Tja, wenn jetzt bald noch das Razer Phone 3 kommt ist die Welt fast wieder in Ordnung

    Well, if the Razer Phone 3 comes soon, the world will almost be okay again

    Looks very good. It did take about 45 min to optimize apps and required a restart after to complete so its not a quick update!

    After the update I can hardly use any apps without crashing them.
    Maybe I am forgetting something that I need to do; any help?
    The apps that are crashing vary from games to internet browsers.

    /update: issue seems solved by an additional restart of the said device.

    Security Updates its always good, but for me is more interesting question will one day out cellhone recieve Android 10

    Does this new updates solves the crackling sound from the speakers? Have had this issue since day one I've got the phone and when sent for warranty claims, they Razer mentioned it's a software issues hence the crackling sound with DOLBY activated, thanks.

    Has anyone have had any issues with this software updates so far?

    Like irregular battery discharges? Apps not working properly? Excecessive Heat? Crashes in general?

    I'm just afraid that this update could potentially end up bricking the device. As a planned obsolesence

    I haven't had any new issues.... all previous issues still remain though (like memory card detecting incorrect size)

    RP2 is a lousy phone if you need Bluetooth audio connection as it only supports SBC. Even my sub-$200 Samsung A30 support AAC Bluetooth audio. Razer phone pride itself as a high-end gaming phone but lack any form of higher-end Bluetooth audio support. I thought it's a given that it will have high-end AAC or aptx support so I never check before buying a RP2. My mistake which I would not repeat.

    I thought it was my connection I have the same issue and turn it off and don't even use it because of it ty for making me realize much respect my friend

    no major issues here but ive noticed some things lag more..
    totally didnt expect an update but i read somewhere that ATT gets em all first so thees always a chance for more

    Hi, i have a RP2 and since the update i am not able to perform phone calls, nor local or international.
    Worked withe Canadian carrier (Fido) to figure what's wrong, i inserted my sim card into my wife phone, a Samsung S7, and on her phone the sim card works perfectly. The carrier shipped me a new sim card at no cost, but it still doesn't work.

    I performed a factory reset and it still doesn't work.

    I reached out to Razer support and Dino F (Project manager) 5 days ago and no one replied.

    Can anyone that work in Razer help me out?

    That's very odd can you try another sim in your phone from another network at all?

    In haven't heard of anyone else having signal issues after this update I'll ask for a staff member to reach out to you.
