I decided to make this for those first time buyers, as well as those of you who are uncertain if it's worth upgrading from the Elite to the V2, hope this helps! Feedback would be great especially if you disagree or have certain preferences with either mouse :)
Deathadder Elite: 4.5*'s
Pros - Affirmative click, comfortable, adjustable rgb ( can disable if you prefer ), ability to assign macros, 7 buttons, well reviewed.
Cons - Locked DPI options (800,1600 etc), must open synapse upon boot to enable macros & rgb, costs more than the V2
Deathadder V2: 5*'s
Pros - Everything about the Elite and more such as, on board memory profiles (for rgb, macros etc), adjustable dpi (can change each individual dpi setting to whatever dpi you want!), much lighter, PTFE feet, adjustable sensor, less flare near the rmb for comfort, 8 buttons (one is inaccessible while using the mouse however).
Cons - Honestly, none that I have experienced so far.
Side notes: The V2 is an upgrade from the Elite in every way, from comfort to customization, it's superior. The only thing I enjoyed more about the Elite was that the mouse wheel had very raised bumps and I liked the feeling more than the smoother V2 mouse wheel.
The Optical switch vs. Mechanical switch is something that I've yet to truly feel, keep in mind I'm only on 60Hz so I'm limited in terms of frames to be able to tell if there's less input lag. There may be a significant difference as you up the Hz on your monitor, but no promises. Also can not be sure if it would last longer, depends on how hard you click etc!
The new adjustable sensor is a way bigger deal than I anticipated, since it deactivates at 2mm off my mouse pad and activates 1mm before I touch my mouse pad, there's little to no cursor movement if I make large swipes with my mouse. This is huge in games like CSGO when it comes to tracking. It hasn't made me a Shroud or S1mple, but it definitely helps.
Lastly, both the Elite and the V2 are great mice, but since the V2 is currently LESS expensive than the Elite, I see no reason as to why you shouldn't look into getting the V2, especially if you're like me and have recently broken your Elite. Water sucks.
If you've made it this far, I hope this was helpful! Let me know what you think and whether or not you've compared the two and preferred the Elite
