Ya, theirs a thread on XDA where they break down the following (light info, hit up XDA for more info):
Bluetooth overlay apk: HID devices are explicitly DISABLED
Audio Overlay apk: LITERALLY FORCES through settings, the Codec to SBC
Audio Buffer preferences: low setting*

*probably why even setting SBC codec to high preferences revert back to lowest when you pair ANY BT Audio device (seriously, I shelled out money for the Hammerheads that launched with this phone), and why audio quality lags and suchs horrible

So imagine how I felt literally SICK TO MY STOMACH when I saw the image for the new BT headset:
https://www.razer.com/gaming-audio/razer-hammerhead-true-wireless-earbuds

Is that a RP1 or 2? Its too bad the AUDIO QUALITY WILL BE ABSOLUTE TRASH IF YOU USE THEM WITH A RAZER PHONE...

ya, Support provided no answer, and firmware updates have provided no answer, It would be nice if they even supported any of the OTHER codecs if they didnt want to license AptX or AptX-HD but noooo, GET KNEECAPPED SUNNNN

When you say that HID is disabled, does that mean that you can't connect any controller to the RP2? Is this to force you to use Razer controllers?

it's an RP2 bud.
it is utter insanity that their own quite expensive headset will sound like doo doo on their own device... imagine the sales pitch? "here.. buy our headset ... incompatible with out own handsets!"
full of win!

wow, nearly a month and nothing.... great advert!
Razer this is your support forum where people come to ask questions and get them answered by the folks who make them. It's the worlds windows to let people see how you deal with issues and how you respond.... or not at all as it seems.
I think it's pretty disgraceful that a customer just gets plain ignored when asking what should be a simple question for you to respond to.
I am a customer who has spent good money on your product. the RP1 died and i was promised to have it within a specific timescale, i was promised and guaranteed it would be sorted and even delivered to my family over in Malta where i was staying.... nope.. didn't happen BUT, as i sad before I got an RP2 back.. very good, I was genuinely pleased.
But haver to wonder... was it as a gesture from Razer??? OR was it because they either haven't got the parts or phones to replace an RP!??? Thus making it a necessity to replace with the RP2.
you might think.. well that's a mighty assumption.. but it seems assumption is all we can have due to Razer's apparent allergy to responding to posts.
All I ask is a simple question about Apt-X functionality as I have apt-x kit that it could be used with.
Is it because Razer is embarrassed it cheaped out???? And it's it MENTAL their headset is Apt-x enabled but their phones aren't so if you want the best out the headphones... you have to purchase another brand of handset.
Seems a bit mental to me.
So Razer... is it all style over substance and profit over customer care and support? are you gonna go full metal apple and tell us we are doing it wrong???
how will we know ... you don't respond.
It's fair to say this is mostly probably the last razer device in this house of tech lovers.
we all like to spend our money on people that give good honest support and when you ask a question on the support forums... they WILL answer whether it's praise or criticism or complaint.
THAT is the kind of company that I like to do business with.
really? nothing? no response whatsoever from Razer staff??
does anyone know if there's something i can buy myself to enable it???
Hi Razer staff.. I was TOLD to post this question here by a staff member..... seems that there will be no answer forthcoming. It can't be the hardest question for you to respond to. is it just embarrassing that Razer cheaped out and didn't bundle the codec? it's meant to be a flagship phone but has no codecs that came as standard on my son's mid-range budget phone. Apparently the RP1 did support it according to some peeps on XDA but RP2 doesn't!!!
Your own headset has apt-x enabled but your phones don't .. is this not kinda nuts? It can only be pennies in the greater scheme of things to get a volume license for this stuff so this penny pinching to the detriment of customers but the benefit of shareholders is getting a bit much.
Apart from the obvious fanboys who would buy a turd if it had a logo on it(any brand as long as it's the brand of choice), how are you going to retain customers with this kind of thing??
I had a dim-ish view of Razer due to the dying mouse buttons on the Boomslang, the lachesis and the craptastic dome keys on expensive keyboards leading me to surmise that it's design over function , quality and substance.

Then my RP1 died and I was promised that it would absolutely be sorted and it would even be posted to me in Malta as we were going on a family holiday. Of course Razer missed that appointment and i didn't get the phone replaced till i got back. To be fair they did replace it with an RP2 and that was appreciated but didn't make up for the lateness. It did improve my opinion on Razer.
Now asking a simple question about this gets ZERO reply and that's not good enough really. How can you sell a flagship product that is missing flagship features and LIMITS the kit that is worth getting as Apt-x is FAR more superior than ultra crappy SBC. Even the likes of budget and mid range phones have it as standard

Style over substance, the apple approach, is DIRE, gimme functional hardware

Can't you see that as emblematic that you don't really care about customers???
