I just added code support for the Nommo Chroma and Nommo Pro. Sorry these took so long, I had prototypes to add support for but lost my code and didn't have time to rewrite it. I had time now so I rewrote the support and committed them. It will be in the next build.

Look at the video in one of my replies. You need to change the Amplitude, and have the background lighting to black(to see it better) and make sure that the volume level of what you are listening to i.e a Youtube Video is at full volume, the audio from the mixer does not affect the visualiser from what I've seen fiddling around with this

I would like to change the amplitude but the visualizer keep closing on its own the second I see it, preventing me to change anything on it.
New release is out on the Releases page. Nommo Chroma and Pro are added, generic keyboard effect is now the default so previously non-working keyboards now work, and there are some other additions as well including support for Espurna firmware flashed RGB light bulbs and ASUS Aura Sync.
CalcProgrammer1, The Tartarus Chroma v2 is not supported?
I tried running the software and all of my peripherals sync excluding the tartarus.
I hope the next update will include the Tartarus Chroma v2.

Thanks!

Great, now I have to buy some LED strips lol. actually I was hoping that would be implemented for behind my monitors. keep up the good work!

Yeah, it looks awesome and syncs with all of your Chroma peripherals. Here's my setup with one 30 LED strip hooked up to match the new Chroma wallpaper:

Build 1.10 is ready!

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Fq0HEJolPtRDk5MFJkSGRydVE/view?usp=sharing

This build uses the new 1.1.5 SDK release which now supports wireless mice in wired mode! The Naga Epic Chroma is now supported. In addition, this SDK release fixes independent control of the DeathStalker Chroma so it is also enabled and does not interfere with the other keyboards! I also fixed a minor alignment issue introduced in 1.09 where the Firefly lighting wasn't perfectly mirrored on both sides of the device.

I am working on creating an installer for easier installation. I will continue providing links directly to the .exe files for those who prefer this method of distribution. I want to integrate the VS2015 runtime into my installer so that it is an easy setup process as well as distribute a ChromaAppInfo.xml file so that the Chroma Apps section of Synapse has correct information about my app. I may actually add this to the .exe itself so that it creates a ChromaAppInfo.xml file when run, so that you don't have to use the installer version to get this information shown.

Also, NEW ICON! I made the old one as a placeholder and it sucked, didn't even have an alpha channel so it had an ugly white background. New icon is much nicer and made in Gimp. I actually drew three separate resolutions by hand so that the smaller 16x16 icon looks like something distinguishable rather than a blob.
Any way to make it work with Tartarus V2? Work on my ornata chroma but not the Tartarus V2.
It does not work on Mac or Linux. It does work on Windows 7 and Windows 10, presumably 8 as well (not tested) and maybe Vista too.

Supported devices are Blackwidow Chroma, Mamba TE, and Firefly. Only other Chroma device I own is a Naga Epic Chroma and the SDK doesn't support it.

Here's my latest build (v1.03) which may fix some crash-on-open issues as well as has more foreground color options:

I've been posting updates as they come to this video I made:

Let your Razer Chroma-enabled devices rock to your beats with the beta Audio Visualizer, developed on the latest Razer Chroma SDK 4.8.

Fire off the colors not just on your Razer BlackWidow Chroma, but also on the newly supported Razer Mamba TE & Razer Firefly!

*EDIT* 19th January 2016
Hey everyone! I can't believe it has already almost been 4 months since this post came up and Chroma has come a long way since then! The Audio Visualizer is no longer an early build and the setup process is very simple, I've updated the steps below accordingly.

We’ll let the video du-du-du-du-do the showing:

We really appreciate all the work our community developers have put in to push the potential of the Razer Chroma technology and our friend @CalcProgrammer1 has really done a solid job on the Audio Visualizer. This new Audio Visualizer gives you the freedom to customize the color scheme and tweak its amplitude so you are only limited by your own creativity. Did we mention it’ll not just react to your music, but also to game audio?

Here’s how to get the fun started:

  • Ensure that you have connected you Chroma device and updated Synapse to the latest version
  • Once updated, make sure that under your Chroma device > Chroma Apps tab, you have "Chroma Apps" turned on
  • Head over to the Chroma Workshop and download the Audio Visualizer
  • Install the vc_redist.x86.exe file that comes together in the zip
  • Launch the Audio Visualizer and get rockin'

Have a go at it and show us what you are doing with your Chroma hardware.

To those facing the "mfc140.dll is missing" issue
Download the Visual Studio Redistributable version "vc_redist.x86.exe"

As this is a very early build, it clashes with Advanced Configurator occasionally.

Change your effects to the default ones e.g. Wave, Spectrum Cycling. You can then launch the application and your keyboard/mousemat/mice will show a blank slate until a sound is played.

What products does it work with? *EDIT*
It works with...

  • BlackWidow Chroma / TE
  • DeathStalker Chroma
  • Firefly
  • Diamondback
  • Naga Chroma/Naga Epic
  • Mamba TE/Mamba wireless
  • Orochi
  • DeathAdder Chroma
  • Tartarus Chroma
  • Orbweaver Chroma
  • Kraken 7.1 Chroma

The visualizer bars are really low, anyway to fix that?
You can bump the bar's height up by increasing the amplitude or your volume (not too much please).

How do I get the colours like the ones in the video?
Adjust "Foreground Mode" to the colour scheme that you like. In the video, I used "Rainbow Inverse". You can also add a "Background Mode" should you like.

Does it react to any sounds besides music?
It takes your Windows sound input, hence any sound - including your games or movies!

Do I have to turn off Synapse?
Closing Synapse before launching the app will be the safest.

Keyboard goes black but it does not react to any audio
As the program is reliant on some limited functions by Windows, be sure that your volume is cranked up or adjust the "Amplitude" to a higher value (Try in the 500s or 1000s)

I can't get it to work due to misc reasons that we have yet to identify
I apologize for this, this was meant to be a beta build and I shared it earlier as I knew the video will get you guys psyched for the app! We are using your feedbacks to build a better experience.

While it may be tedious right now, we WILL be reducing the steps and processes in due time with Synapse and etc. That is on top of more product support. Hang in there!

is this ever gonna be available for mac? would love that if it did.
i can't get Audio Visualizer 3.06 to sync with my Hue+, i tried adding the settings but no luck can anyone help me with this?

try running in administrator mode? that was my problem for awhile. sometimes even when that didnt work restarting my computer would do the trick.

I'd recommend using the Chroma Visualizer module for Synapse 3 instead of this, mainly because it was developed by Razer themselves.

Even if your device isn't Synapse 3 compatible, the Visualizer module you'll find from within S3 will work with your S2 device.

I am using the one from chroma workshop anyway. A small thing I've noticed about it-before I've used v3.04, but once I've plugged my tartarus it started "lagging" a lot and now only 3.06 version work ok, with the issues I've mentioned above though

Just a note, i don't know if anyone else had the problem but with my Deathadder Chroma, On Version 2.01 the mouse doesn't change colours, And just moves to the music in this white-yellow colour.

Adjust the Single Color Mode to change what the mouse does here. If you have a bar foreground selected like Rainbow Bars, set single color mode to Follow Foreground and it will follow the pattern of the bars and change colors.

Started working on a new feature and it's mostly implemented. I added the ability to synchronize two instances over the network. You can set one computer as host and the other(s) as client. Client connects to host and host's processed audio data is sent to clients along with all settings and the client thus responds exactly as the host is to the music playing on the host computer. I added this so I can have my RBS with its mouse going along even though I'm playing music on my desktop. Not quite done yet (need to stuff some things into threads so it doesn't lock the program until the client and server connect to each other) but it's working for the most part.

Has anyone got this working properly with the Razer Blade Pro (Late 2016)? The quick view page shows support for the Razer Blade Pro but it only seems to work on the mouse area and not the keyboard :slightly_sad:

I added the line "razer_use_keyboard_generic_effect" to the setting file and then press enter to add one more blank line.
The Chroma Workshop link is often outdated. I post on GitHub and Razer takes the builds from there and puts them on Workshop. If you want the latest build, go to GitHub. Older builds may lack support for recently added devices.
Change Single Color Mode.
Works best with Amplitude between 150-200% past that it's way to fast, for me at least. Thank you Razer for doing this!!!
yes I am using everything latest but do I need to install the things in a correct order
So like my keyboard wasn't lighting but then I went to razer synapse and enabled Chroma Apps and it started working ^_^

Are you saying this is ampossible to work, or is there a chance. The strafe is not 200$, but the k70 is, so I would like to save money, and have this amazing program. Also I do know myself just a bit on programming, and the differences between these keyboards, I dont need a review. Is there any way you could make this program work with the strafe without the keyboard, or maybe borrow it. I would like this program, I set it up on my friends blackwidow, and it was beast. I want that same effect.

Dude...Please try looking up Google.

Is anyone having problems with blade stealth just not showing up?

The Kaby Lake Blade Stealth isn't supported because there's no unique identifier for it in the SDK. I've informed Razer of the issue but they haven't released an SDK fix for it yet.

Just a quick shout out for making a great alternative to Synapse's lighting options, looks fantaistic on my Blackwidow X TE, Deathadder Elite, Firefly, Kraken Pro v2 setup with the color wheel background and white foreground with single colors set to match the background.

Having a slight issue with the lighting on my keyboard turning off and on for a split second when there's no sound playing, I've tried increasing the delay slightly as well as closing Synapse and nether didn't seem to make a difference, any ideas?

If you use Reactive Background mode, it will fade the background in after a few seconds of silence. If that isn't what you're experiencing, then it's something to do with your Synapse/drivers/etc.

I have no useful information for you - however, this statement made me laugh!! I can only imagine the shock of thinking you were going to get your Razer keyboard working correctly with the chroma and suddenly your Logitech mouse started doing it instead. LOL -- sounds like a shared API somewhere. hehehe

i just had to exit Logitech software and it started working 😃 ... Btw i could even play snake on my mouse
So this was cool but now I can't get my old settings on the synapse to work.
Mine is working perfectly, except that the colors wont project onto my Mamba Chroma- any ideas?
