I'm guessing it's time to give this a try, so let's have at it.
Lets try! Thanks

Beta participants just stand by to be updated to official?

Does it mean I have to uninstall my current Cortex and re-download this new version?

The wait is over

I uninstalled the old version before I added the new 9 version, no issues with it at all. Looks good, noticed that the Gamecaster was replaced with a System Booster, no biggie as I never used the Gamecaster anyhow, but I'm always cautious about these System Boosters ( nasty results from these in the past ). So off to the old trusty Laptop ( the guinea-pig LOL ) just to see how far and deep it will go.

Glad to say nothing essential was removed to cause issues, so I try it on my main rig and it does a nice job in removing the unnecessary junk and not messing with stuff to screw things up, good job Razer.
I was hoping they would add some control over the System Booster, the infamy of Razer software precedes them and I don't trust Cortex to not mess things up. Specifically, I want to turn off defragging, I have 4 SSDs and a single HDD. It would also be nice to know what files are being touched in the System Clean function.

Updates are always welcome, but I preferred the old logo.
What are your opinions?

The new logo isn't centered and it bugs the crap out of me! lol

Installed it then realized there was no game caster. I tried to see if it was just under different tabs or something completely different, realized it was not in at all so I uninstalled it and reinstalled a older version I had. :3 Of course the main thing I use cortex for gets removed.

It's on it's own download now scroll down to the bottom of the page to get the download.

It's all there under the scan button ; there are check boxes for system clean/ speed up/ and defrag games. Under that down at the bottom of the page you can click "View Scan Results" and from here you can expand to see what it's going to do. Hope that helps.

ps. I can't help you about the position of the logo LOL

The download is for the old cortex, GameCaster isn't its own program yet. I had the same reply until I hit the button and it said it was the Cortex 8.xx.exe

Hmm, I don't have check boxes, just dots.

Does the scan not immediately take action? I haven't even hit that yet.

Ok, sorry I didn't click on the Gamecaster download I just saw it there.
And as for the scan yes you have to click on it then it turns to an Optimize button and under that is where you find the checks and "view scan results" and from there it is broken down more by expanding it will go all the way till it shows the files involved. Recommend is safe the other stuff not checked is going deeper and may or may not cause some unwanted results but there is a warning that comes up if you click on them, I had no ill effects by optimizing with Recommended settings. So far so good on my end hopefully you don't get bad results, good luck.

Note: From what I can tell it just clears what is really not needing to be running and some temp files, things like that.

Ha Ha Ha !!! I just have seen the irony in our names you're Chicken and I'm NotThisAgain and we both are cautious with this stuff LOL, it sounds like we have been on the same street at one point or another, ya know the one "Misery Lane". That's funny, and also why I loaded it on my old laptop to try it out, no biggie if I have to do a clean Windows install on it. Why I call it the "Guiney-pig" it's no matter if I kill it lol.
I'm still annoyed that I can't have it auto run on start up because every time I open up Cortex, the UAC warning always shows up.
And NO, I won't switch off my UAC warning just for Cortex.

Do you have administrator privileges? I don't think that is suppose to happen.

Well, I'm the only one using my laptop. And had set my user as the administrator.
looks great!
Was the game caster removed ? O.o
So just updated to 9.0 saw too late gamecaster was removed. came to the forum, found it had a separate download. that link just downloaded 8.x now cortex is prompting to update. but all my gamecaster setup has been wiped. not happy.

On a side note, I only use cortex for gamecaster. I do not use any other feature of cortex.
Userlevel 3
I just use Razer Cortex to collect my daily zSilver. The Game Booster and System Booster doesn't give any noticeable performance boost and it can probably screw things up.

Maybe something similar would be useful on our Razer Phone???.
Android optimization and system cleaning.

On the latest Cortex, it seems like they removed the Gamecaster for recording/streaming.

Granted, not everybody used it, but it was better than nothing.

There's a million alternatives to Gamecaster, just like there are a million alternatives to every other tool or software.
It all started with the cloud, now the whole internet sky is stuffed with clouds, you need software (multiple versions and releases), an internet connection at all times, accounts and passwords for all of them. Out of the clouds came rain, pouring rain. Each drop is a subversion of the idea of the cloud, also requiring software, an internet connection, accounts and passwords, many of them don't remember the passwords (e.g. synapse 2) and as an added bonus they spawn tons of publicity in your face. One of those tiny drops in a gigantic ocean of rain is Synapse, inside the drop one particle is named Cortex, and attached to that you have Gamecaster. FYI: the complete mouse driver package consumes (rather consumed) around 440Mb on my system. The first three computers I owned, the TRS80, PC XT and PC 286, had respectfully 16kB, 128kB and 640kB of RAM. On the 286 I was playing already playing a zillion of games like DOOM. A game using kilobytes then and a mouse driver using 440Mb today, something went terribly wrong down the line guys. We're all doomed!!!
Отличное приложение, мне очень понравилось
niceeeeeee
Let's see if all you guys are saying about new interface is true :))))
gonna download this later. gotta love the new look.
Hopefully this works for WoW, been trying to record videos with it and it just dose not want to record the WoW now that the pre patch hit. TT-TT
