Blackshark Pro V2 (2020) pairing failed | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Dear support,

After 2 years of very pleasant usage of the Blackshark Pro V2 wireless headset I checked for a firmware update due to the device not synching on a new laptop. After trying the firmware update to the latest version (1.00.13), the tool stalled at the pairing step and since then connectivity seems messed up in the communication between the USB transmitter and the headset itself.

After trying it on different computer I was finally able to re-pair the devices together with the firmware upgrade tool, but it has just happened again that sound is lost completely and trying to re-pair headset and transmitter using the pairing tool always seems to fail.

I already tried removing all traces of the razer drivers by using the driver removal tool. Reinserting the USB transmitter correctly defaults to the Windows audio drivers in the Device Manager and the Audio UI in windows shows that sound is being sent to the device but it simply does not arrive in the headphones, leading me to conclude that the pairing is messed up again. I ran the tool as administrator but to no avail. Also Synapse is unable to find the device.

Can you confirm what steps are needed to achieve pairing with the latest firmware update?

Thanks so much for your support in any case.

Best regards,

Philippe

I am facing the exact same issues, with the same usage history of 2+ years. Did everything possible and still stuck. Wonder how Razer is non-responsive on this.

I have the exact same problem. PC recognizes both the dongle and the headphones but Synapse does not connect the headphones. Tried all kinds of reinstalls and even updated to latest firmware. The pairing keeps failing.

EDIT: I tried the pairing on another pc and the problem persists

Sadly I am facing similar issues. I managed to pair the headset, only to have it loose its pairing 24hours later and now I'm struggling to pair them again. Very frustrating. Suggestions are welcome how to successfully pair the headphones to the dongle again.

Nothing helped for me. And after a VERY VERY VERY frustrating and long process of explaining myself again and again to dozens of different "support" agents, I finally got a new pair.

Something I noticed after getting the new pair is that on the faulty phones when I turned the volume knob to either completely up or completely down, the headphones let out this strange static noise. The new pair does not do that. I have no idea if this is indicative of anything.

So sadly, I wasn’t able to create a case as their system says that I have no warranty left, sadly. So I won’t be able to experience the “explain, explain, explain” :-p

However, funny you mention the “static” noise. I also realised it last night and after inserting a 3.5mm jack into the audio-out port, the “static” stopped and I was able to pair the headphones. So seems like there is some strange short-circuit, which obviously I cannot explain. And I don’t suppose Razer is about to send me a new pair… Unless there is a good hearted soul there :-)

However, it is just very frustrating, when you think you are going to sit down and relax with some gaming, only to have it ruined by spending hours trying to pair headphones….

I have a similar problem, it said that the pairing failed but then I tried to do it again and it wouldn’t let me so I tried to use the headset and it worked but it’s like its not a stable connection, it’ll randomly act like I’m out of range and the blue light on my head set starts blinking.. this is after I ordered a new dongle due to the old one being broken. any fix please help.
