Whenever scrolling on my Viper V2 pro, If I’m scrolling up or down, it will randomly scroll in the opposite direction or stop scrolling at all for a second. Blowing compressed Air can sometimes improve it, but after a day or 2 it goes back to this, is there anything I can do to fix this or improve it which lasts longer than a couple days?

Razer cheaped out on the encoder in the v2 pro. that’s why the v3 came out so fast. I have logitech gaming mouse from 2007 still working flawlessly and razer is just like eh screw it, who cares that we sold this mouse for 150 dollars. Those moronic customers of ours will just buy the new version and throw their v2 away!

Imagine a mouse only lasting 1-2 years. What kind of garbage QC does razer do if any? Literally all of them fail this way. Is it REALLY that hard to do actual testing?

Yeah I can’t argue with that, theres gotta be a way to improve it though

You can fix it by disassembling the mouse and soldering a replacement, better quality, scroll wheel encoder

That’s the fix.

But if he still have valid warranty - then I’d RMA it.

Hi AGWyt,

I’m here to help. Were there any incidents that happened to your mouse before the issue? Is there any noticeable physical damage from the device? Is the scroll wheel hard to turn or stuck in a certain way? Does the problem occur while you are connected wirelessly or wired? Please perform the troubleshooting in this article to further isolate the issue. If the steps didn’t work, PM me your device serial number and proof of purchase so I can check for replacement options. Kindly save the shareable files via Google Drive. Thanks!
