Huntsman Elite No Lighting / Not Fully Recognized in Synapse | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I am completely baffled by this issue I am having with my Huntsman Elite (V1, If you will). For about two weeks now the lighting doesn’t work when Synapse 3 is running. Synapse also doesn’t fully recognize the keyboard. What do I mean by this? The icon shows, and the green spinning wheel stops after about 8 seconds and never fully recognizes the keyboard. There’s been no spills, breaks, cracks, or any damage of any kind to the keyboard. To answer the immediate things you will tell me to do, I have done them:

  1. Switched USB ports - problem persists
  2. Switched computers - problem persists (one WIN10, other WIN11)
  3. Yes I am using USB 3.1 ports.
  4. Uninstalled all drivers and synapse software. Twice, once on my own and once with the Razer Diagnostic Tool thing. Problem persists.
  5. All things are updated to current versions. Even keyboard firmware.
  6. No I don’t have Valorant or Riot Vanguard installed.

I am at a complete loss. Something got borked and I can’t figure out what it is for the life of me.

Functionally the keyboard is fine. I just get no lighting on it now, at all, except for the CAPS, NUM indicators, and when I press the function key those lights work but the hotkeys do not.

TIA.

Maybe try some other software to rule out Synpase?.

Download SignalRGB and check if your keyboard is detected.  I know it’s supported.  If lights do work on SignalRGB then this is definitely something related to Synapse 3.

Well it seems to be a Synapse issue. Signal RGB detects and works on the keyboard. That is so bizarre. Thanks for the suggestion, I didn’t even know that program exists.

Then if SignalRGB works, definitely a Synapse 3 issue.  I gave up on Synapse 3 because it really is a terrible piece of software.  It should not take that many resources and work so slow just for configuring a keyboard, sadly Synapse 4 is still not supported on my Huntsman V3 so I paid the annual subscription to SignalRGB.

Only thing I’m missing is being able to tweak the analog keys and actuation points but so far has proven to be also worthless for gaming.
