As title says - my somewhat new (got it just few months ago) Razer Barracuda X 2022 recently started acting erronously. It is a shame there are so many threads with similar issues and there is no open answer from support how to deal with that.

  • When I change from watching say youtube to another sound like discord, video game, teams the sound randomly stops working. Even if I go back to the original one that was working it is now quiet. Sometimes it takes 10 seconds to reestablish the sound, sometimes restart of the headset or dongle out/in is required.
  • Sometimes when I start the headset (fully charged) there is no sound. I have to disconnect the usb wireless receiver that came in the package and connect it again and this reestablishes the connection.
  • Sometimes the headset randomly turns off after like 10-15 seconds of inactivity (i.e. I stop a video on YT and search for another and I run it. With headset on my head it has turned off.  There is no sound notification like when I turn them off manually.
  • I have noticed that even if there is no sound, the video pause/unpause with 1 click from the headset still works if it does not randomly turn off.
  • Sometimes after I have paused a video for a bit and resume the sound may come back in 10-15 seconds or never or immediately.

So far I tried:

  1. Installed Synapse - apparently my headset is not supported there so no other steps advised were possible.
  2. Exited 7.1 surround. Changed the audio output to be Razer Barracuda X instead of 7.1
  3. Re-installed drivers on the PC.
  4. Updated the headset to latest version (initiall connection took few tries as the headset was seldomly turning off due to no sound).
  5. Ensured USB selective suspension is disabled.

This looks like some kind of a sleep mode which does not wake properly. Before I got this set I had an older version and had no issues at all with it.

 

Can I get someone to help with solution?

Razer does not appear to be answering anyone.  The more and more I research the more I am finding this particular headset is plagued with these issues, anyone want to join me with a case with better business bureau against Razer.  They need to at least reply or replace our headsets.


Any updates on this? This issue and another where I have to unplug and replug dongle for max volume is really bugging me.
