Razer Inc - HIDClass - 6.2.9200.16547

This update installed via Windows Update on 7/7/2023.  Ever since the update I’m getting a constant usb connecting/disconnecting sound and if I’m lucky the “unable to connect to USB” pops up long enough that I can click on it and lock it to a window so I’m not getting constantly pinged.  When I go through windows updates, there is no update for me to uninstall, when I search online there are no resources to download this separately and attempt another install.  The only thing I could find that helped temporarily is in device manage, under hidden devices there is a “Razer Device” which I uninstalled and restarted.  Which fixed the issue for a little bit until it came back about 2 hours ago and then mysteriously cleared up again.

Whats the deal with this driver; Why isn’t it showing up in windows updates?  Why is there no online documentation?  Why does the windows website not include this update?

What seems to have fixed it for me was just turning off the mouse’s lighting.

Update 6.2.9200.16547 appeared after a firmware update that brought the polling rate to 8000Hz
Mouse Dock Pro and Basilisk V3 Pro firmware has been updated
In my case, the one to which the Mouse Dock Pro HID Keyboard Device is connected has the corresponding version.
I used wushowhide.diagcab to hide "Razer Inc - HIDClass - 6.2.9200.16547", but this Razer remains in the Windows Update window.
I think it will probably be updated, so I will leave this suicide note.

I had issues for a very long time after a windows update and the fix for me was to revert to 6.2.9200.16511 driver. 
I used Snappy driver installer to do that using the “worse match” filter.

Your first problem is you talked to a Gamestop employee, This issue only happened with the newest update of Synapse 3 which means it’s a Synapse issue not a windows 11 issue. I’m currently running windows 11 on the Canary beta update and the features it’s providing me right now are astronomically better gaming performance than i’ve ever had on windows 10 or the live version of 11.

 

Your first problem is that you bought a Razer (mine, as well), the second problem is that you assumed my problem was simply listening to the opinion/reasoning of a GameStop employee, yet I was only relaying information based upon that person’s particular situation. In the same manner that someone would tell me to be ever watchful of UFOs, out on Highway Marker 52. The employee experienced something and then relayed their experience. That doesn’t mean that I believe in UFOs just because I was the recipient of their ideas.

I, too, like to live dangerously and run beta versions, but not with Windows 11 updates/editions. You’re correct, Windows 11 has been the stablest it has ever been… Since Windows 7. I personally detest Windows 10 & 11 (W11 is just post William Birkin v10.5 “Pro”) and the integrated Ol’ Company Store. 

My initial suspect was a faulty/defective internal component. And yes, most likely the culprit could primarily be Synapse 3. But for Pete’s Sake… don’t blame Windows 11 (after it mutates like G-Virus for over 2 years). 

Allow me to reiterate: 

Is this is a problem regarding the software code (from Razer), being successfully interpreted, by Windows 11 (because W11 is our darling), and possibly some hardware failure to throw in the mix?

^ Now slice that cake any way you want it, and see which slice you get. It’s the same cake. All 3 ingredients are baked in.

I recently spoke with a GameStop employee, regarding this fiasco, and his response / solution was to go back to Windows 10. Then his problems were solved. 

I would, however all of my Windows 10 licenses have been “upgrade” to Windows 11. So I’m unable to try that method.

For me the problem is that updating to this new driver broke my Synapse 3 connection to the keyboard and I can no longer change the keyboard colors or anything. As soon as I turn off Synapse my settings return to normal. Even if I reinstall Synapse it’ll work until I reboot and then it breaks again. Which is weird because the exact same driver is installed for my mouse and its working perfectly fine.

Here’s another workaround for those who already have the driver installed and want to revert to a previous one, or just to check it has been properly reverted.

For mice & keyboards: Go to Device Manager(type into Start menu, or right click Start on Win11) → View menu, select “Devices by type”) → Human Device Interface → your device name(for me Razer Orochi V2).  There are two entries with this name for me, double-click each, and find the one with driver version 6.2.9200.16547 under the Driver tab.

The Windows Update impacts this driver for me, updating from 6.2.9200.16545 to 16547. Both have a driver date of 1/2/2017. If you reverted using one of the methods others here have mentioned, check that it is NOT driver version ending in 16547 as that means the driver is still present on your system. Things are still smooth on 16547 for me so I am keeping it for now.

To revert, under the Driver tab, select “Update Driver”. In the window that opens, select “Browse my computer for drivers”, select “Let me Pick...”, and you’ll then be presented with a list of all compatible drivers on your system. From here select the version you want. You can also force install of any Razer drivers with the “Have Disk” option if you have another version not listed that you can locate on your computer. I recently updated to Windows 11 so I only have these two present. You may likely have others that have been delivered via Windows Update over time.

After you uninstall any Razer Windows updates, always re-check the driver version.

Thought I’d pop in with what appears to have been a solution for me.  In my case I allowed them to install originally and it kept windows from starting properly.

 

From looking at the windows update catalog, that driver isn’t listed, but based on the version number it should be a very old one.  It’s weird that it would be serving it up to us now, Windows itself has newer drivers listed.

 

In any case this is what I did,

Once the driver showed as pending again I got the Show Hide Updates Tool from here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-11-how-do-i-block-a-specific-driver-update/23087695-a22e-48e5-9494-22cd06e5478f  it’s a tool they’re dropping support for but still works as far as I can tell. It listed the update and I hid it.

 

Then I followed the steps here to delete the pending update files https://pureinfotech.com/delete-pending-updates-windows-11/

 

Then in windows update I paused updates, and then resumed them.  It acted like it installed them again anyway - but device manager reports the drivers as current and I was able to reboot normally.

I should have never updated my windows I was expecting this update was coming from Razer Leviathan V2 X speaker but I never did install the razer software on my PC because I can change the RGB, EQ etc on the Razer app via bluetooth on the phone. Some of my USB devices are incorrectly working now especially on the USB port on my monitor….. God I hate updating windows 10.

Unfortunately, it’s not there.  That’s only programs and this is a driver that doesn’t show up there.

I would uninstall the driver, delete folders pertaining to razor, I’d also hit regedit and delete any keys related to razor. Don’t do this if you’ve never used the registry.

 

Unfortunately, I cannot find where or how to uninstall the driver.  I can’t find anything in Device Manager that says the manufacture is Razer and I can’t find anyway to uninstall it.  Do you know of a way to remove it?

Wow, this is annoying!   I have a system restore point just before this driver was installed - it actually says that this driver will be affected by the system restore.  I restore to that and windows immediately installs this driver before I have a chance to change anything.   I deleted all cashed updates.  It must be somewhere else on the system.

What systems are people encountering usb disconnects with? If you have AMD Ryzen 5000 series cpus with B550/X570 mobos, they are known to have usb connection issues with earlier bios versions. I updated my B550i bios, set my pcie to gen 3, and disconnects are rare now.

I haven't tried this (and probably won't) but it looks like the best solution so far.

I had massive issues with installing any version of this, it lags the usb ports and is more like a virus. I haven't had this installed for my keyboard and it works perfectly. For me there's no reason to install this.

 

It's obviously is dependent on what you need from your peripherals.

This driver updated automatically and now my screen never sleeps. Ugh!  This is the worst driver update ever.  How can this update be rolled back?

This driver is sitting in my ready to install on Windows 11 update. It used to be in optional. I have automatic driver updates disabled. This is sooo frustrating! I don’t want the new driver. It caused problems for me in the past with the USB disconnect issues. How do I remove this driver from the list of “Ready to install” in windows update??

 

--- I figured it out. Make sure automatic driver updates are disabled in the policy manager. Reboot the PC. Then pause your updates from Windows update. The press resume updates, and the driver no longer appears.

Fortunately I did not let this driver install. I’m using an older driver for my Razer gaming keyboard that controls the lighting. The new driver don’t work with my older keyboard. So I do not want the newer drivers at all.

Just installed on Windows 11 22H2, no issues here yet. My Orochi v2 is maintaining a stable connection, no disconnects or stutters. Running the latest KB5028185 “Moment 3” Windows update too.

Same issue here. It’s very annoying my mice keeps disconnecting.

My Windows 11 just notified me that this update installed and it’s pending a restart. I’m not even using Synapse as I uninstalled it a while ago since it kept preventing me from restarting or shutting down Windows.

 

I thought this might be a fix for Synapse to stop giving an error on restart or shutdown. I’ll give it a shot and monitor if my PC explodes or stops working. I’ll try installing this and report back if I have issues.

how did you deflect it? how did you avoid installing since its gonna happen when you restart the 

PC?
