Razer leviathan v2 turns on but will not work | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

My leviathan v2 speakers have been working great for a while now and all of the sudden, stopped working, they turn on and the source light is green, but my pc no longer detects the speakers whatsoever. i also cannot change them to bluetooth to connect my phone to them. i just cannot get anything out of them. i have tried updating the firmware but in order to do this, the device needs to be in bluetooth mode so i cannot update, i have tried reinstalling synapse and restarting my pc but still no luck. i left it a couple of days and suddenly the source light was solid red and pressing the buttons or holding them did nothing, i switched it off at the wall and then back on and im back to them being able to turn on and off but still cannot get them in bluetooth mode or cannot get my pc to recognise them.

I had the same problem. Holding the mute button down for 10 seconds forces a factory reset and the unit will power down. After powering back up, the sound was once again working.

Same after a power outage it stopped working

Now another round of a power outage, another round of problem. And it can’t be fixed by switching the cables. Damn!

I have the same issue… speakers work but suddenly no sound. Source light blue for me though. Trying to update whatever I can now and see what happens later.

Razer support team please answer us on why this is happening…..

A power outage bricked my Leviathan V2. It turns on, will even connect to a Bluetooth transmitter, but there’s no sound. Additionally, the device is not recognized when it’s USB-connected to a PC, so there’s no way to factory-reset it.

When the power outage occurred, the device was plugged into surge protector. It would appear that the soundbar’s electronics are just too fragile.

Edit, I unplugged the device and separated the adapter’s power bar from the plug for ~15 minutes. After putting it back together, the soundbar started working again. That would indicate the adapter’s power bar itself may be the component that’s sensitive to power surges.

Apparently I managed to solve it!

The source wasn't sending enough energy/voltage to the input, I took the cable and pressed it very hard on the input, it's strange, but after I did this the PC recognized the PC mode and bluetooh, it's hard to explain, but there's something to do with the power source and cable.

this has happened to me around 3x in the past 12 months, all because of a power interruption or fluctuation.  I even encountered the dreaded RED light earlier today.

Turning On the Leviathan V2 just freezes, bluetooth doesnt work, and speaker doesnt get detected. Sometimes upon turning on, it will show red light.

My solution is a variation of what ErikkVanilla and TroyFace has done.

While turned on, remove the USB cable, and insert another (high-quality) USB cable and choose a new USB port. As soon as I inserted the cable, my PC’s audio switched to it. Now, turn it off, gracefully, then plug back the official USB cable.

Good luck.

Lesson learned. Dont buy Razer anymore.

I  have the same issue please help

It happened again. Leviathan doesn't like power surges very much. Also, coincidentally, a new version of synapse has just been released. I don't know who the reason is, but the computer stopped seeing the device when connected. This time the firmware update helped me (I used another laptop that has bluetooth for this) - https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4166/~/software-and-firmware-updates-for-razer-peripherals

(at the 12th point, the button did not respond - I disconnected the device from the network and turned it on again https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6274 )

This is the second time this has happened to me, and yes, power surges, power outages are the common scenario for me.

First time I had to borrow a friends soundbar (same model as mine, Leviathan V2), plug that to my PC, and somehow, something, whatever was broken, got fixed, his worked first time plugging into my PC, disconnected his and connected mine after all this and, to my surprise, it worked.

Six months after, same behavior. Sound bar turned on, but PC wouldn’t recognize it. However, this time, following the steps in the below link actually helped me fix the situation.

Hope this also works for everyone.

Cheers!

helped solve the problem by disconnecting the speaker from the power supply at night + resetting the settings (hold down the power button and -/+ volume)

I had the exact same issue, but changing power adaptors didn't work or only temporarily worked. In the end I pulled the entire thing apart, looked at everything, put it all back together and it's now working perfectly fine...

I have the same issue after a power surge.

My Pc Windows or synapse doesnt detect the soundbar.

Bluetooth mode connects to my laptop but no sound.

Here is how i managed to start it again.

Remove all cables from the sound bar.

Remove the adapter from power socket. (This may not be necessary, just my experience)

Wait disconnected with no power about 15 minutes. (This may not be necessary, just my experience)

Press and hold power button for about 5 seconds. You should hear a low click inside the soundbar.

Connect every cable and power up.

I have the same issue after tuned off my PC. every time that i make my PC start up this issue happen every time  synapse cannot detect soundbar. i had to disconnect cable and reconnect it to solve this problem.
lasted Driver of synapse and soundbar firmware updated everything.
hey Razer your product is suck. ashamed on you Razer.

no more buy your product.

i managed to get mine to be able to register with the pc again but it has no sound now, I've check and it responds to the chroma lights and volume buttons interacted but no sound still.

+1 to those who say that you need to disconnect it from the power, then try again.

fwiw, I disconnected for 1 hour before reconnecting. Windows now recognises the speaker again.

But yeah, for a premium product it’s really not very satisfactory. Razer, you need to learn from this.

Lost count of how many times this has happened to me. Here I am again, bricked bar after power outages due to storm.

Tried the usual firmware updater process:

Firmware Updaters

Above didn’t work for me this time. What worked was doing a hard reset.

Follow these steps:

  1. Pull out the power cable
  2. Hold down the Power button, Volume Up and Volume Down
  3. While holding down, plug back the power cable
  4. Release the buttons after 3 seconds
  5. Hold Power button, Volume Up and Volume Down again for 10 seconds

Hope it works for you

Cheers!

it didn't work the first time. Then I unplugged the usb and repeated all the steps. After connecting the usb, windows and synaps detected the device. Thanks!

Thank you for the advice that helped. Certainly I am going to do all that do not respond to them connected via USB-C or via Bluetooth to proceed in this way.

This is very disappointing, a speaker whose worth a merely 200 bucks is worthless, no solutions no luck! hey help us out here, your product sucks!
