Razer Synapse 2 not opening

Userlevel 1
Hello everyone,

Today I've updated Razer Synapse 2, and it doesn't open anymore. When I close it, and again run it then it shows the notification of syncing settings, but it still doesn't open. I have tried reinstalling and everything. Even tried on other PC and it happens the same thing. Any solution?
I cleaned all folders with Ccleaner before reinstalling.
Under Programs And Features only option unistalling is working. Changing or repair throws an error of not founding . msi installer. It never happened before any of these things..

I have the same issue. The app won't open, upgrade, or uninstall. I noticed this started happening after the app tried to update and evidently failed, as the update process ran for 2+ hours and eventually stopped when I had to shut down.
All these years since i bought the Razer surround pro application, I have been using it with generic setup (not with razer headset) with many other headsets. And everything worked great. I liked the widened sound stage, improved positioning audio and all the other options.

Now when I installed the application on the fresh version of latest windows 10 - the sound is very laggy, robotic - just plain bad - regardless of which headphones/speakers i connect to my PC.

This is not a speaker/heaphone issue, but rather the application compability with windows 10 current version.

I can unistall through Programs and Features.. but it doesn't open. From this new update I think it's 2.21.24.1 I can not open and nothing.. and also on the other laptop is same not working, which can not be coincidence..
I mean come on, Synapse is not working for more than 3 months.. WTF RAZER?
not working on any version of windows as it seems.
tried on: w10 1903,1803,1703, and w7 sp1 all beeing x64
As of last Windows update I have this problem as well. I no longer can use the Macro keys from my BlackWidow Ultimate and launching the program won't do anything in any means. I've used Revo Unistaller for fresh installs and also nothing. I've also noticed that by changing ports it fails to update itself.
Anyone with a fix yet?

Why not just switch to version 3? It looks stable right now, at least for me.

Because some of us have "older" products that aren't compatible with v3?

Why not use the link that Razer.RedPanda posted ?

Uninstall everything from Razer before with Revo Uninstaller v4. Then reinstall everything you need from Razer.

It worked for me. The download from the Razer site doesn't seem to work.

yeah it's working for you. That doesn't mean it's working for me or for us. I've tried everything and the razer synapse 2 is still not working on 5 computers I've checked. The version 3 is working, but my razer kraken is not supported by version 3.
Im here in 2020 ... till having the same issue with not being able to open synapse ... both 2 and 3. -- maybe we should return the keyboards and buy corsair?
Spent all yesterday figuring this out, the razer synapse 2 install on the website does not work, instead you should download razer surround here: https://support.razer.com/software/surround/
1) Uninstall Razer Synapse 2.0 and any residuals in the ProgramData folder
2) Install Razer Surround (it comes packaged with Razer Synapse 2.0)
3) Launch Razer Surround and let it do whatever updates it wants to
4) Uninstall Razer Surround, but not Razer Synapse 2
5) You should now have a good install of Razer Synapse 2

Technical:
The problem is that there is a file in the standard razer synapse 2 install that seems to be grossly out of date. The RazerConfigNative.dll in the normal install has a created date of 2015 and is not digitally signed by Razer. If you grab the Razer Surround install instead, it correctly uses a RazerConfigNative.dll signed by Razer in November 2019. If you use the normal install and try to check the log files in the ProgramData folder, you'll see that it is failing a "IsSignedByRazer" check on the dll and crashing.

edit: I read the thread a little more, seems like some people might have other issues here. But what I'm pointing out is specifically a Razer issue and not an issue with a particular version of Windows. The current Razer Synapse 2.0 download will not work on any system as of this moment.
I ended up stumbling on a fix that worked for me.

On a fresh install, after you log in, it'll attempt to update. I didn't let it finish by closing Razer's update manager in the Task Manager. I opened Synapse and after a bit a window popped up asking if I wanted to update Synapse. I told it to update and when it was finished Synapse worked just fine.

This was with Synapse 2.
Just downloaded Synapse2 after buying a new pad and same problem. I see the icon but when I go to open it, nothing happens. Saved the file to my computer and installed it as an administrator and then ran the program as an administrator. Still nothing. When was the last update and can we download an earlier version of the program.

Figured it out. The 1903 Windows 10 upgrade is causing issues with USB devices - including the latest “fix”. Microsoft is working on it. For those of us desperate enough to get back to using Razer Core, I switched back to the 1809 Windows 10 upgrade which required a clean install of Windows (don’t try a downgrade) and disabled windows updates as the first order of things then plugged in the Core and then installed Synapse 2. After installation it asked me to reboot which I did and everything worked. Installed the graphics card driver after that and now I’m up and running.

I’d wait for the news on a proper fix for the issue before enabling windows updates again.

I won't go back to 1809 just because of one program not being enough optimised. I am done with razer, they didn't even reply on my question from gmail. And I was on 1809 version, and didn't worked. On my other laptop who is still on 1809 version the program is not working as well.
Also here, reinstalled everything, the device is not even visible in the device manager (no Razor products) the icon is in the system tray, but wont open (Razor Deathraddere Elite)
same here synapse will not open to the configurator set up I wonder how long until razer will finally get there act together
Until now the problem is still not solved...
having the same problem 😠
Yup still hasnt been god damn fixed

yeah, it's still not working for me since august. So nice Razer.. new update came, nothing new. Installed, log in.. nothing. Still doesn't open. Didn't work on 1809, 1903, 1909 version Windows. So I gave up.
So frustrating. :mad_: I may need to buy a Logitech, they doesn't seem to care about customers. :confused_:
That helped me.

Same issue. I have an old Taipan and ready to upgrade. No razer response, no workaround, for months!??!?! Why should I consider razer for my next mouse?

Taipan is not supported in v3.
This thread made me give up on Razer, I allready ordered a new Corsair Glaive.
Having this same issue as of today. Just got the quartz Huntsman and Basilisk and no-go. Came here to hopefully find a solution. Ughh
