Synapse problems with MacOS Catalina

Dear Razer Support,

two months ago, people on Reddit reported problems with Synapse 2 and MacOS Catalina Beta.
Keyboard lights won't work without unplug/plug the USB after hibernation.

Now, MacOS Catalina has been released globally but the bug still exists.
Are there any plans for an update so that functionality of the Keyboard will be fully restored?

YRMY but There's one more thing you guys might want to try. (I thought I had enabled it, but it didn't stick)

Turn on Input Monitoring, as above (although mine now says both RzUpdater.app AND RzDeviceEngine.app)

but also:
In Activity Montitor, Force Quit the RzUpdater app. It should restart the Synapse app. It will ask you (well, it did for me) to enable allow the app to control you Mac. Turn it on. (it's under Acessibility - RzDeviceEngine.app)

This finally let me properly re-map my DeathAdder Elite buttons.

This worked for me. Thanks a lot!

Ok, I think I figured it out. I tried the previous thing on the larger post above, but RzUpdater.app was already on the approved list, so that wasn't my problem. What I ended up doing was manually adding Razer Synapse itself to the approved list on Security & Privacy. To do it, press the plus button below the approved list, then select Razer Synapse from the app list. I added the app itself as well as RzDeviceEngine.app to the list and it works perfectly. Looks like it is a security issue with Mac.

This worked for me. Thanks
I have a 2012 Mamba that connects to Synapse, but a Firefly that I just bought two days ago does not. I tried adding both Razer Synapse and the RzDeviceEngine to Input Monitoring and neither worked unfortunately.

Thank you Razer, for creating this complication.

Just spent 120+ euros for a new gaming setup for mac, near useless after one day when i updated.
Please fix this. Might even return my mouse after christmas, tbh.

Thank you again, for this pain
around Christmas, as well.

Man im still using High Sierra LOL there is no way im gonna update to Catalina and fucked up everything..!!
Recently bought a Naga Trinity to replace my Naga 2014 (which still worked fine after the Catalina update) only to find that none of the buttons/lights can be configured.
Synapse just ignores the changes.
Gah. Bought a Naga Trinity for my Mac because they said they support Mac, only to find out Razer is way behind the times. Very disappointing Razer.
Pleas update Razer Synapse 2 for macOS Catalina Razer team!
My Naga Trinity and Nommo speakers will show up in Synapse for a brief period of time after rebooting (and unplugging in the case of the mouse). However my Goliathus Extended Chroma doesn't show up at all no matter what I do.

Unfortunately, even the devices that do show up are flakey. I can only loop the colors and the looping doesn't sync between devices — so my desk is a permanent kaleidoscope of colors. Likewise the mouse constantly forgets the settings and sometimes only a reinstall of synapse will fix the issue.

It's a shame, I love the hardware but it's clear that Razer doesn't actually support macOS. I just wish I knew that before buying all this stuff. I feel like I'm stuck now.
I'm facing the same problem....
Hi All,

Razer Synapse does not seem to recognize my Mamba Wireless. It works, but I cannot see it in the app.
My Razer Synapse doesn't detect my Razer Firefly and my Razer Kraken 7.1 V2. However it detects my Razer Blackwidow Chroma and my Razer DeathAdder Elite. What the hell...
Same for me. Default colour for Mamba TE and lights doesn't want to light at BlackWidow Chroma V2.
MacOS Catalina.
I did a fresh install of Catalina on my iMac yesterday and was trying to use blackwidow chroma and firefly on it for the very first time, but no matter how many times I tried, the LEDs just won’t light up at all. Any idea why?
I'm getting a similar issue, my DeathAdder is lighting up with correct functionality, however, I can't change the colors or really edit anything in the synapse. And my Ornata Chroma keyboard still works, it just doesn't light up at all. Please update support for macOS Catilina, this is an urgent problem.
Please kindly update the support for macOS Catalina ASAP.

Thank you very much: No. 7 worked for me...So all old Razer Gadgets worked on macOS Catalina? New Mices don't because they need Synapse 3, this is only Windows only...so Mac support from Razer ends here? So please an official announcement so that I can choose another brand with Mac support.
I think I have a resolution for connecting the mouse (I cannot speak to the Headsets/camera/or basestation, but I have a hunch the following will work for them to. I will walk through each step in the order in which I did it, but truthfully, I think the last is what actually fixed it so you might want to start there (step 7 below).

1. Cut a hole in that box...
J/k actually it was reseting the SMC for my Macbook pro:
Unplug Razer Mouse (2012 Orochi for me)
Turn off Macbook pro
hit power and hold (all left side) Shift control and option for ~15 seconds

2. let Macbook Pro start up.
3. connect Razer Orochi
4. shut down again
5. Reset NVRAM:
Hold Power, "P" and "R" Keys for ~20 seconds
6. let power up fully.

7. Unplug Razer mouse, try to connect via bluetooth. (For Orochi you have to turn the mouse "on" then hold all four side buttons (2 left and 2 right) to pair then connect via bluetooth settings.
8. This forced OS Settings to open to "Security and Privacy"> Privacy Tab>Input Monitoring (left menu) and add RzUpdater
8.5 if settings isn't forced open, you can go to the settings (see graphic), unlock your settings (little lock button bottom left), go to Input Monitoring and manually add RzUpdater to the list and try again to connect via bluetooth

9. Once this was done, basic mouse functionality was restored. I plugged it back in via USB and all worked just fine.

I also had problems connecting on the Bootcamp side, so I will try that next and update this post with anything from that side.

<Update> I checked the bootcamp side and following the above steps all is functional there as well!

I hope this helps! Good luck.

Best,

ABV
Same problem with the headsets, camera and the base station....

sorry for changing the subject, and no fan of Mac, but MacOS Catalina?

Has Apple been playing too much GTA?

Certainly, but it's also an island located off the coast of Los Angeles.
It follows other California landmarks used as codenames.

They probably chose an island because all 32 bit apps and crap stayed ashore. Lol.
But this is not the problem with Synapse, which is already 64 bits. The hassle is elsewhere.

Razer is selling products "MacOS compatible" and this statement is not true anymore !

Synapse dead for me as well Naga Hex keeps resetting to default and the tracking jumps everywhere. I won a Razer keyboard at Blizzcon last year and turned it down.

Come on Razer - This may be the time to fully switch over to Corsair mayhaps.....
